Do the GTM 1/2/3/4's void warranty

simple yay/nay?

KaienZ34 06-09-2012 07:01 PM

What are we talking about here? FI kits, TT and SC'ed? If so then yes.

PapoZalsa 06-09-2012 07:20 PM

Any TT or SC, YAY!

Basically everything involving your drivetrain warranty will likely not be honored by most dealers once you go forced induction. Everything else should be find.

Yes it does. Dealers can even give you a hard time about an intake or even exhaust so I've heard.

Yeah but it is pretty easy to blame any damage on a major modification like FI.. exhaust would be a hard sell unless the warranty issue concerns the exhaust components.

I think Stillens kit give you a warranty on all powertrain if you go through an authorized installer but everyone knows GTM is better

Digitonium might wanna chime in on this. He has a tt kit and just got his Trans replaced under warranty

KaienZ34 06-09-2012 08:50 PM

Jamaica has done that also with he's SC'ed 370.

1) Depends on the dealer.

2) Burden of proof sits with them, to prove what you modded is what caused the problem. I wouldn't want to fight with them in court over it, just me...

3) What you mod is uaually the part of the warranty that is voided, and not the rest of the warranty. EX: You put on a catback exhaust on and your radio goes out, they should still fix the radio.

oh yes my dealer told me " YES it would" multiple times, i even came into the place and spoke to one of their mechanics about it, the said the same thing. which i really didnt get to begin with after speaking to a STILLEN representive about " will it void my warrenties?" she responded with " No , STILLEN is in Partnership with Nissan, therefore it wouldnt void the warranties" so i go in there and calmly tell them all the info she gave me, and they still said the same thing.... came home, emailed the STILLEN rep again, and she looked up on her computer if they have done business with them and she replied with " your dealership, it looks like we tried dealing with them a LONG time ago and it didnt work out, maybe thats why.... even though we are in partnership with Nissan globally as a company.... some dealerships can be As*holes. ..... after debating, i decide, HELL with it, im going with it, go in there and talked to a couple sales reps and told them everything, their response was " DO it. its just an intake, ooo big deal. if i was you, id do it, at most it'll void the COMPONENT warrenty not the Engine warrenty"

i hate dealerships . HATE them. for this reason. they'd get alot more business im sure if they'd just do it! sheesh.

i dont give a crap now lol had the intakes for a while now and now saving money for the SC and the Oil Cooler. Supercharge it and throw it up as you drive by the dealership. ( gonna be entering it in Carshows and Tracking it :) )

NOPE, my local dealer told me that Stillen warranty the SC only, and the dealer the labor but your powertrain is voided.

Best bet is to talk to your dealership and see what they don't mind. Mine said intake were fine, HFC's fine, catback fine, headers and FI they were not fine with. So i modded accordingly untill my warranty ran out, then all bets were off. :driving:
