am i being to anal about valve stems?

Mr.kenchan, you are not being anal, I would love to have metal valve stems too.

Regarding Mr.GaleForce's info about the stems become rusty, depends how long after and what kind of metal does the stems made of... :icon17:

Mrs.Dr.onzedge pretty much looks like she did before she started?? That is exceptionally good Mr.onzedge.... lots of guys couldn't recognize their wife/gf after the process :icon14: :icon14:!!!! :icon18:

Probably. The local tire shop says the metal air valves can corrode and cause air leaks... Your car doesn't see bad weather enough to worry though. Flip a coin, heads = metal, tails = rubber.

ahh, perhaps that's why, thanks for the info. the tire shop was like especially if my car's a hobby car i would absolutely not have issues with either one, but rubber is recommended by most oem's so that's why they use it. they also claim they use the exact same valve stems that the dealers use.

hi mr.alcheng- major LOL :bowrofl: @ civic. hahahaha!!

yah, as for the valve stems the tire shop said they replace each time new tires are mounted so for me that would be about once every 8-10k miles in dry weather only. and my car is garaged most of the time so UV/cracking is not an issue. i suppose it's more cosmetics thing now... i guess i can get some black rays caps and feel better. lol :icon17:

so here is my knob comparison... PWJDM vs TWM biggie Type-R

i have to say, i luv the biggie type-r.. :yum:

http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...83-2-knobs.jpg

pattern...

http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...wm-pattern.jpg

driver side...
http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...twm-driver.jpg

passenger side...
http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-passenger.jpg

the weight is impressive. it's shorter than the pwjdm and gates are even crisper.
can't wait to take her out for a spin. :excited:

fitment wise the base it just a hair too small in diameter to cover the factory boot holder ring thingie, so i made a little gasket using hard black felt. it's a factory finish. :)

http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...twm-gasket.jpg

since i used flash it emphasizes the felt, but in real life you can't see it.

yah, i guarantee you will absolutely luv this knob especially if you like the type-r design.

this is considerably bigger than the regular TWM type-r i use in my G. but it's not stupid big. it's prefect.

happytheman 07-09-2012 10:34 PM

Just thought I'd mention it here: I had metal valve stems to begin with.

What's the weight diff between the PWJDM and the Biggie Type-R?

And if you didn't catch it the first time, that looks sweeeeet!
