Tinting your Z...

What have you paid for a quality tint job? I can't imagine too much since we don't really have a lot of glass. Did it seem like an easy tint install or did your installer run into any problems?

NotmyGTR 06-14-2009 12:49 PM

120

$120.00 for every window. No problem for the guy that did mine. Had to clamp on a little device to fool the door mechanism though to get the front windows all the way up with the doors open. No big deal though.

Checked the receipt $153 for all side and back windows. This includes a lifetime warranty for any cracking/peeling/bubbling/etc.

The price written in pen is the price I paid, and not the $168. The person who wrote the receipt didn't know I had talked the tinter down to $150.

By the way, I just bought a new scanner so I'm pretty much looking for an excuse to scan anything..hence the receipt lol :)

StLRedrider 06-14-2009 02:11 PM

I paid $200.00.

I'm curious about the ceramic tints and whether the heat rejection is really that good. More expensive from what I've read. Any experience with this?

WShade 06-14-2009 02:25 PM

I have ceramic on both of my cars and would not think twice about doing it again.

KageZ 06-14-2009 02:33 PM

Thanx guys, I really appreciate all the input!

mspeasl 06-14-2009 02:54 PM

$140................. My installer told me the rear quarters were a b%$ch.........

:twocents:

Yeah I think it is time for tint. The sun here in Hawaii is intense even though the temps are only mid 80s to low 90s in the summer.

How's the visibility? I mean I can't really see crap now.

soaka1 06-14-2009 04:26 PM

i paid 70$ but i know the guy ... 10% tint

$165.00 for SunTek Carbon Tint 35% all around with a lifetime warranty. The carbon makes it where it doesn't interfere with the Nav.

I hear ya pimp, I think people put Nano in front of anything to double the price. :shakes head:

tvfreakazoid 06-15-2009 03:36 AM

It won't effect the NAV? The navigation?
Here in cali we can't put tints on the driver and passenger side windows which really sucks.

175$, 15% on all windows (except the windsheild)

Forumite 06-15-2009 08:36 AM

Paid $120 for mine, all was good until I rolled the drivers side window down the other day and it started to peel. The guy that did it will not return my calls. I'll give him till the end of this week then make a visit to his job with the front end of my car squared up to the bay windows.

ejrives 06-15-2009 09:41 AM

yes, the navigation. Most tints have metal in them which can interfere with GPS navigation. The carbon and ceramics don't interfere with GPS.

For Huper Optik?:tiphat: I thought it was a exuberant price myself, but I checked around on the BMW forums and the going prices were $450-$525. So I went with it, "The Little Woman" hates this damned Georgia heat worse than I do!
