You might find a used one in the For Sale section. OP, make sure you head of to the Ohio Checkin thread and post up.

Dud I just bought one over the memorial day weekend and got a discount. You missed it. I read that Stillen had terrible customer service, but I'm here to say otherwise...so far. I ordered the exhaust without entering the code to get the discount, so i emailed them about 3 minutes later explaining the situation. The very next day it shipped and I received an email saying that they had given me the discount! spot on stillen, I'm glad I decided to switch from the FI at the last second now. Both the CAI and CBE are now in my house after only 4 days apiece and awaiting installation this Saturday :D

How much did you get it for?

The point of people expressing their disapproval with customer service is so a company could take a look at themselves, hopefully see where the flaw is and fix it. Your good customer service is because others paved the way to encourage change in the way customers were treated. Most likely... your positive experience is the the evolution of those complaints.

Stillen often has sales. I got a free gen 3 CAI by buying my coil overs and CBE at the same time.

If you can wait until a sale you will do much better.

TypeOne 06-01-2012 02:10 PM

Buy one used, they aren't worth $1200 new!

^^^^^^^ WTH...

It was the other way for me! Wish I would have gone FI from the start!

Vichtz 06-01-2012 04:50 PM

Well thanks to all the people that failed before for letting me reap your rewards :D it was great and we appreciate your sacrifice!
I paid 1190 even. About 100$ off. the reason I went over FI is 1.) im not so into my car that I have to have the best of the best when the HP/TQ difference isnt that much different between the 2 exhausts. 2.) it was cheaper with the sale and 3.) I got it in 4 days rather than months haha. I guess my mod bug was a bit too impatient :/ However the main thing was definitely money....school is expensive :(

TypeOne 06-02-2012 07:46 AM

Its not about having the best of the best, it's about making the right choices with the money that you have. For me at least.

I liked the CBE, and honestly, it was the setup I wanted before I even got my Z. But it's heavy, power gains aren't that great and mine sounded raspy with HFCs. Overall I wasn't impressed and felt my money could have been better spent elsewhere.

Anyway, congrats on the purchase. Go put it on so you can be addicted to driving your car. :-)

Honestly... the stillen sounds like my stock exhaust with non resonated mid-pipe. $1200 is a lot to pay for a sound that you can obtain with $90 and gain like 4 or 5 hp from that and in conjunction with an intake it can go as high as 24hp depending on your intake setup.
