Change it at your first scheduled maintenance. No reason to do it early. Factory fill should be the Nissan Ester. Change it to whatever fill you like at that point as long as its within specifications.

Nissan dictates a very aggressive OCI for the Z for most drivers (3 months/3K). A street driven car with 3K on a good fill will pass a UOA with flying colors. Why waste time, oil, and money doing it earlier?

Don't over think it. The most important thing is that you have a sufficient amount of oil in the engine. Use your favorite oil and check it regularly.

You stopped the car? Newb. Should have put it in cruise control and changed the oil on the highway. That's how the pros do it.

*Disclaimer: do not actually attempt anywhere ever.

And most of those who offer their expertise on the subject are not even qualified to do same. But it's the internet.:shakes head:

anyone seen better pricing on the oil and filter than here on Z1s site? Not saying its a lot, just wondering if there is better available.

Red Line 5w30 Oil Change Kit (370z/G37)

That's actually a really good price. I bought mine from Amazon last time and it was 10.95 a quart. I will be getting this package next time. +1 rep for you for sharing. thanks.

Z1's package is great and amazing services. I changed mine at 1100 miles to Redline, before the change there is this metallic sound when the engine get under load, now with Redline that sound is gone. I am no expert but it does make me feel the car is running smoother especially when you are revving high.

You can trust that I'm an expert. It's on the internet, so it must be true.

To all those who don't know this, Ester is a type of synthetic oil. YOUR CAR IS ALREADY running synthetic from the get go.

My only tip is to change the oil filter when you change your oil as filters aren't very expensive and it helps to keep everything nice and clean :)
