Ah. I think that is supposed to be "Did you disable the new SLU after replacement?"

Edit: Maybe "supposed to be" were the wrong words. How about "The way I read it..."?

Ah I see! That makes me feel better. Lol. Thanks for the interpret.

It's a diamond in the rough. Modding this car is a blast and there a a ton to do to make them sooooooo much better than stock.

If it does and the dealer replaces the lock on my '09 with a newer revision, I think I would still re-install my bypass harness after they were done. I don't know that I would trust the thing not to fail another year or two down the road.

Hmmmm. Searched the Web for "Nissan ESCL" and found:
Service Campaign -- Electronic Steering Column Lock - Nissan Cube Car Forums - "recall" for Cube
Omer Ulu - Design Release Engineer ... - Los Angeles, CA | Indeed.com - some guy that worked on the SLU.

That's what I'm saying. I mean, they don't have one out that is 100% known NOT to fail, correct? No matter what Rev it is, I'm pretty sure they all have a history of failing. So they're essentially going to replace your lock with another one that can still fail, free of charge at least. This is unless they recently came out with a new Rev that is fail proof. Either way, I'm still glad I cut my wire a couple weeks ago. Won't have to spend the time at a dealer for this campaign and wont have to worry about the new one they put in failing.

Yep. I hope Nissan decides to delete the SLUs (two screws and a BCM reflash), not replace them.
