This thing has blew up like the plague
|
I ordered the harness before this fix was posted, otherwise I would pull the fuse. Since I already committed to the harness I don't want to cancel on the member who went to a lot of time & effort plus buying the parts. For $50 it's an easy install and no anxiety wondering if pulling the fuse is creating an issue that we don't yet know about.
But I'm sure glad that I wasn't a Nervous Nellie and spent $500 on a new lock. |

Hey guys, pulled the fuse yesterday and although everything is working as it should I noticed something that's happening intermittently after pulling the fuse. When I get in the car and I haven't started it in a while I press the button and it seems to take about 5 seconds before starting up...the first time it happened I thought the button press hadn't registered and as I was reaching to press it again the car started.
It's important to note this doesn't happen all the time. If I turn the car off immediately after turning it on then turn it on again it starts up immediately. It seems like the computer is looking to unlock the steering but doesn't get a response immediately so it waits and starts up when it figures out there's nothing there. I don't get why it wouldn't happen all the time though in that case. Anyway, I don't really have a big problem with this as long as I know that's how it is. Would rather deal with that then being stranded on the road. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this yet? |
