Joining the ranks! Couple of questions

Hey guys super excited with my soon to be new purchase, planning on getting the car later this week. new 2012 red base!

Now this is my first real car that I plan on maintaining since it's not exactly the cheapest thing around. I've been reading a lot of articles, and have never really been a hands on kind of guy, but plan to with this car.

Other than getting the oil changes/regularly scheduled maintenance, periodic washing/cleaning/detailing, what are other must do things that I should do? Tried searching but couldn't find a consolidated post on everything. I know it's a pretty broad topic, but just general guidelines would help a lot. thanks!

Rotator splints need a good amount of maintenance and lubrication on our cars. Get the service manual, it tells you step by step how to maintain it.

I would say get used to your VDC settings. On or Off...I prefer to run with it on for my daily driving and when i go for a spirited cruise i do i turn it off.

Follow the maintenance schedule in the OM and you're pretty well covered. If you drive outside of what's normal eg. tracking your car, then you should consider an oil cooler, dyno tune, etc which will hit your pocket book a bit harder for maintenance. But that's all part of the Z experience, no?:tiphat:

It's inside the flux capacitor.

+1 on following the maintenance schedule... that's all you need unless you track your car

I don't think I want to run my car with trash or jigawatts.

Use Plutonium... after 1985 it became available in every corner drug store.
