I notice this from time to time on car forums. There are a LOT of awesome sports cars I'd love to own/drive not just ONE.

Can you believe that, some pretty strong feeling, could it be jealousy?

i didn't like the 370z when i first saw it, i thought it was kinda funky.
I'm in love with it now! |

Sport version has the right mix of wheels and rear spoiler to not ruin the curves. Like it or not, I always thought the Caymen was one beautiful car. The 370Z has great curves also, and adds some muscularity without going the "sharp angle" route to achieve it. John |
I've been cross shopping 370Z and Corvette. For some reason I feel like the 370Z is a better overall car, quality and interior, etc. However I do love the big V8. Has anyone drove both? Can 332HP compare to a 430hp vette?
Also has anyone driven BOTH a NEW Maxima and a 370Z that can comment? |

The Corvette is a well built car. Some of the materials in the interior are cheap but it's still a good car. Vette vs. Z is a tough choice... Z vs. Maxima... can't really compare. Obviously the Z is going to beat it in every performance category. Comfort and practicality... Max hands down! :icon18: |

The Z and C6 are both really nice cars. I don't think you can go wrong with either. |
The 370Z hate thread just kind of died there didn't it. More people like it than not.
|
I think people like all sorts of cars for different reasons. Everyone can critique a car and it doesn't mean they hate it. Unless youre dealing with a Ferrari I think any sports car can be positive and negative for different reasons.
|
Exactly, thats why it seems so strange to read such strong negative feelings, like its personal.

back on z vs vette... i'm not a vette hater, but I do have reservations... I have about 30 hours of track time in a vette and while it was good to learn on, I wouldn't want to own one... they are a dime a dozen and to me feel numb and understeer in stock configuration... the interior, while improved recently, seems early 90s vintage to me.... benefit is HPs... but the Z is good for high 300s NA with the right tweaks and with a little weight reduction it won't be too far off a stock vette in the straights... 370z all the way! :)

I have driven the new Maxima and it is really hard to make a comparison since they are two entirely different beasts. The Maxima is a great sporty sedan with decent pick-up and a ton of bells and whistles for the money. It is not a true sports car, but the new Max is the closest thing to the 4DSC that Nissan has billed it as since the Maxima SE that came out in 2000, which I had one. Inside you will find many of the same options, with the possibility of a few more in the Max depending on how it's equipped. The max has the backup cam, air conditioned drivers seat, Dual Zone, climate control, and the option of the all glass roof. You won't find these things in the Z. The Max is also far and away more practical.
I may be picking up a new Maxima as a second car. I found out that I am going to be a dad one week after I bought the Z, and I will need to get something a bit more practical, but I am not getting rid of the Z. With dealers taking off nearly 8K off the sticker on the new Max it may just be a great deal. |
