Whats up.

Ive been looking for a Z for months now. I believe is one of the best sports car, if not the best sport car you can get for less than 40k. Got this 2011 for 31k Sport Package, manual, 4k miles, leather, back up camera.

I already ordered the spacers, ill be tracking the car so im looking at oil coolers, any suggestions are welcome. Then ill look into intake and sway bars.

Im already hooked to the forum and found most things ive searched for.

HEre are some pics:

I love the red. Went to purchase a red 09 z last May and they sold it when I was almost to it. I was bummed but I found the right one. Congrats and enjoy!!

Great choice, welcome to the club! You're going to love your Z

lemon-fresh 05-08-2012 12:35 AM

congrats, the seat material looks a little "different".

First mods and adjustments for someone who will track

1. Get your first oil change now.
2. 1200 miles get nissan oem
3. 5000 miles get a high grade oil like redline, RP, amsoil. Etc

When going through this break in period may I suggest.
1. Aftermarket rotors pads and lines.
2. Stillen brake cooling kit.
3. 25 row oil cooler

@ 5000 miles after your choice oil change.
Then I would consider.

Intake, short tube headers and exhaust
Suspension setup of choce
Possibly forced induction???

Congrats on your new ride. Enjoy your journey with your new Z.

Those seats belong to a Nismo, Touring or Custom....

Streetlife 05-08-2012 08:34 AM

Welcome, enjoy her, she's going to bring you joy!:tiphat:

nepali 05-08-2012 09:35 AM

Congratulations!!! I am sure those leather seats are aftermarket because only Touring models come with leather from factory, and OP's model is not Touring.

lemon-fresh 05-08-2012 10:33 AM

They don't look like touring seats either.

As a previous poster said, they may be from a nismo. Floor mats look non-stock also.

Luckily all these changes look like upgrades :) .

With oil coolers, bigger is better.

tonybui 05-08-2012 12:12 PM

I have a similar list in the front of myv journal. I'm logging in every thought I have and info I can gather about do's and donts when I mod. The opening list looks similar. :) its a great way to go for a Z with minimal issues. Don't forget brake fluid upgrades for tracking. :)

Yea the 1st oil change was done at 1,800 mils according to carfax. Im going to see what the stock pads can do at the track. The only thing ill change on brake system will be Motul 500 brake fluid, ive used it before and its amazing how good it is for track days. Then eventually get some decent pads.
Oil cooler is going for sure, Im Terrified if Forced induction, I know many ppl with aftermarket FI and there is always something that holds you back because of it. There is always one bad thing or another.
Coilovers FTW

I have NO Clue about the seats but I think they might be base seats covered with leather.

Look like the Katzkin seat covers, over a base seat.

Nice choice of car!

mantella87 05-09-2012 11:56 AM

I've grown jealous of the red Z's over time. Congrats!
