Lol... I had my front plate on for 3 years and yesterday I decided to take it off. I hated the way it looked and ruined the sexy lines of the Z. The dealer was nice enough to drill directly into the front fascia so I ended up putting 2 black plastic screws in the holes, and you barely even notice it.

Vermont is a 2 plate state... but recently the DMV has been offering a sort of vanity plate that reads "Vermont Strong" to replace your front license plate with to benefit tropical storm irene victims.

So my thinking is... if people can have a plate that just reads "VT Strong" on the front, why can't I have no license plate on the front? It's basically the same thing.

So when I get pulled over (and I am sure I will) I will have the ask the officer that same question

onzedge 05-07-2012 11:50 AM

Come to think of it, when I was pulled over last week he did not mention the absence of my front plate.

red6spd 05-07-2012 11:55 AM

After getting two no front plate tickets I put my Stillen bracket back on, but I mounted it on an angle because I'm a REBEL!!!

Maybe so...... I can't recall getting pulled over just for the hell of it, but at least it was a warning. When one gets pulled over always be real & tell the truth to the officer.

Shotta 05-07-2012 07:16 PM

My wife got a fine for no front plate within the first 4 days of us owning the car. We bought it from a province that doesn't have a front plate so there wasn't even a mount on the car.

Anyways she received a 125 ticket so that night I mounted the plate with a custom bracket screwed from the underside of the lowest point of the bumper. My plate is at an angle so it doesn't block too much air into the rad or cooler and it's the lowest point on my car so not so noticeable.

Well I have been pull over for stupid stuff, e.g. the cop cannot read the date of the inspection sticker. :shakes head:

I had a good streak going for awhile. Went commando for almost year and half.

then got pulled over twice within a 6 month period. by the same highway patrol
officer. got 2 warning's. he said one more and it's for keeps. figured better not push my luck so put it back on... i know the car looks better without.....

but i'm use to it by know and don't give it a second thought..........

EazyD 05-28-2012 09:31 PM

my white plate on white car looks good to me

Joelito 05-29-2012 01:00 PM

Not really feeling the stillen racket with the plate to the side, stock looks better IMO, going no plate in the front in NYC for 5 weeks now :)

Evofusion 05-29-2012 01:35 PM

I went 3 years without a front license plate on my s2000 and 1 year on my RX-8. I did get pulled over once in the RX-8 by a highway trooper on my way back from san antonio but the car was fairly new and he let me go with a warning since I told him my dealer hadn't gotten the bracket for me yet.

Now that I have the Z the bracket is there and I might just keep it. I figure I got away with it for about 4 years and I might as well put it on since the bracket is already drilled into my bumper :(
