Laguna Seca American Le Mans and SCCA invite for Z and GT-R Owners.

Just checking to see what the interest level is for attending this event for the Z owners in the Los Angeles and closely surrounding areas. I dont know if this invite was sent to the 350Z owners.

I happen to own a 370Z and was sent this invite via email, but i cant see Nissan turning anyone away. If there is interest, there would be nothing cooler that participating in a Z caravan up to Monterey.... I know the fun that can be realized because I have done this on my Suzuki GSX-R 750 a few times going to the annual AMA/MotoGP RedBull Motorcycle Roadrace at Laguna Seca.

The date for this is race is , May 11-12, 2012. A Friday and Saturday. The only problem here is the short notice.... I say this because unless you know someone in Salinas or Monterey and since this is a 2 day event... Lodging for that Friday night is a must find.

Finding lodging while the MotoGP/AMA race is at Laguna Seca **WITHOUT** prior reservations for a large group of people to stay "together"... well lets just use the word "impossible", lol.

But hey, I'm willing to give it a try if we have some interest in attending. There will be a "Special Z and GT-R" parking Corral that ONLY Z's and GT-R's can get into for both days-tickets are $90 for both days with a paddock upgrade-Private hospitality chalet for both days-Private trackside viewing area at turn 2-Complimentary food and beverage-Gift Bags-Behind the scenes paddock tours and autograph sessions and other special events.

Lets see if we have a group that wants to caravan up! :driving:

I would go but too far away. I like that Z's are getting recognition though for events.

^Same, wish it wasn't 7 hours away. I got an invite, looks like a fantastic event though!

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool too to be getting this invite from Nissan Motorsports directly... especially with the "Z's and GT-R's ONLY" dedicated parking area!

That takes like 90% of my worry about going to that event out of the equation for me, (2009 370Z with NO door dings) and I know that parked with others Z's that they will be careful not to bump it opening thier doors!

This would be so cool. I have to move west. The North East BLOWS!!!

MacLean 05-01-2012 02:00 PM

That would be a fun event to attend. Way to far for me to attend. Have fun.

Is this a driving event as well or just a spectator event? I'm going Memorial Day to drive, but would love to go before too.

Its a spectator only event.. like the title of the OP says, its an American Le Mans and SCCA event. Nissan Motorsports has invited Z and GT-R Owners to attend to watch the ALM's race (those cars are a BLAST to watch too) and to get to meet the drivers, get autographs and SWAG at Laguna Seca is well worth $90 bucks, that track is one of the best in the WORLD, all i have to say is ONE word to prove that... the word is "Corkscrew", lol. Those that are into racing and not just having a nice car like the 370Z know of what I speak! :happydance:

Hi: I'm a New Z owner: NorCal.....Never got the invite. Did they just automatically send you it or did you register on a site? .....Thanks. Leguna Seca is like an hour from me and I've never been. Could be nice way to spend the weekend with my Z.... and the wifey :driving:

I got a couple things installed at the Dealership from the Nismo line, and i think that is what put me on their "radar".. I live in L.A. (So-Cal) and have been to Laguna Seca multiple times.. Man if I lived an hour from that track that would be my home away from home! GREAT track! You owe it to yourself to go at least once, lol. Personally, I like Motorcycle Racing more that Auto Racing, but the ALM Cars are stunning to watch and at Laguna Seca should be a lot of fun. Then around fellow Z and GT-R owners with the dedicated parking area, icing on the cake!

It's only $90? No way, that is too cheap. I got the email, but I didn't see a price and deleted it.

brucelidat 05-03-2012 06:13 PM

NM, just looked at the old email, it doe shave a price. I have stuff to do that weekend, though. Oh wait, I just realized it's just an opportunity to go see Le Mans, not a track weekend.

brucelidat 05-03-2012 06:14 PM

I thought it was track days which would have been ridiculous.

Kenny 05-03-2012 07:14 PM

I would go but that's Mother's Day weekend.

This is the same kind of gig Nissan put on for us at the Alabama Grand Prix (Indy and Grand-Am), which was excellent. Highly recommended and a great deal.
