Leaky Z?
Just got back from taking the car through wet weather for the first time since delivery and my passenger mentions that the carpet feels a little moist. So I get him to reach down to feel the carpet, and what do you know, there is a small pool down there...
Made a bee-line for home after that. Took part of the trim off, and had a look underneath and it seems like water is coming in from outside somehow, not sure if its leaking in from above or below:-S Anyone else had such incidences? And what should I do, contact the dealer as soon as possible to get them to check it out? |
Take pictures of any damage or evidence of leaking areas, and immediately get it to the dealer.

There have been some "drainage" issues with other Nissan vehicels over the past few years years (drain tubes becoming blocked, etc) but haven't heard anything about such a problem encountered on with the 370 and such a problem would be somewhat "constant" (not tied to rain, etc). At any rate, get it to your dealer ASAP and get the problem documented. |
My friends G35 does this to this day...

Since it's a G35 I would assume it's been going on a while now (since the G35 hasn't been offered in a while now); clearly this is something the dealer should fix or they should ask for help from Nissan in tracking down the problem if finding the problem is beyond them! |
The dealer should definitely take care of this. And after they do I'd take it home and shoot it with the water hose with a friend inside to re-inspect and ensure they have fixed the problem fully.

did you have an alarm installed??
happened to a myg37 guy, got an alarm and the guy didn't seal the wire on the firewall properly and it leaked in from there |
I'd check this hole here (behind the fender liner of the front-right wheel well). Normally, there's a grommet in it, but in this pic it's pulled out because I'm about to route wires through it:

Hmm, I think you may be onto something semtex. When I pulled the trim apart, there was quite a bit of water collecting on the inside of that area.
Would you mind taking a few more photos of exactly where that hole is? My passenger side is on the left since I have an Australian model:p |
Indy, look at this thread -> http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...-hardwire.html
All the pics are in that thread from when I installed the Blinder laser jammer. I'm guessing that that hole is on both sides (i.e., both front wheel wells). |
I need to make one small correction about that hole. I don't think there's normally a grommet in it. The grommet I was thinking of came with the Blinder; it wasn't part of the car. I can't remember whether or not there was something sealing that hole that I had to pull out. It could be that the fender liner itself seals off the hole, which in turn means that the leak may just be due to a loose fender liner that isn't snapped in properly.
