I think my car was lost in the shuffle
 

I bought my Z about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It is yellow and has sport and nav. I would think this car would be in pretty high demand, but yesterday I checked the build date and it was October of 08. I would assume that was one of the first ones to be built. The car was DXed from another dealer, but not by me. I only know that because the window sticker has a different dealer than where I bought it from. The car also had a little over 300 miles when I bought it. I'm assuming it was brought in for somebody else and the deal fell through.

I haven't had any problems or issues at all and I now have over 2,000 miles on it. I just wonder why it sat until May? This car was not on the dealer's showroom floor, and it wasn't even on one of their visible lots. The dealer was fair with the price, so it isn't like they were trying to rake all prospective buyers over the coals. I just find it a bit strange.

Same Oct. 08 build date on my yellow. It was brought in from another dealer , and I purchased it May, 28. The car was invoiced to the original dealer by Nissan 4/14/09.

You seem to think your car was one of the first ones built? Perhaps they came off the line nearly at the same time. My yellow is #365.

This is nothing more than a theory, but since Nissan appears to be pushing the yellow color in their brochure, perhaps some of the early production was that color, to meet perceived demand.
