Good Morning all! :tiphat:

Just got back from my second trip to Indy in the past two weeks. First weekend was for Qualifying, the second trip was for the Race this past weekend.

I flew up for qualifying but drove to the race with my old college buddies from New Orleans. Drove to N.O. on Wednesday, and then drove from there to Indy on Thursday. Drove back to N.O. yesterday and then just headed back to Houston for a total of 17 hours of drive time, the last five in my Z. Got in a convoy with a Corvette, Camaro, M3, two pick-ups and me that cruised from Beaumont into Houston at about 95 mph. Fun drive.

Interestingly, over the course of 34 hours' worth of driving I counted only five Zs on the road, with one being a Nismo. Our cars must really be rare.

It was a great trip with the best race in years. This was race 34 for me. I've attached a few random pictures from Qualifying weekend.

Took the day off to recover. Just finished cleaning the Z. Coffee and Cars this Saturday.

Have a great week everybody. :tiphat:

Sounds and looks like you had an amazing time sir! Color me jelly. :tiphat:

I'm catching up after coming in late from a doctor appointment. I hate faux Mondays even more than the real ones!

My back/rib cage has tightened right up on me. I couldn't stand and breathing deep breaths was hard. I did some stretching once I was able to get on my feet, took some muscle relaxants, had a warm shower (which helped), and hooked up my Tens machine. I'm able to move now. I'll be taking things easy this afternoon.

Z related, I ordered a Stillen license plate mount

Z related...

I know, for ONCE, I have something.

The Wife took her 370Z out today. You can imagine when we uncovered it in the garage and our Jaws just dropped..

The Touring Interior, and the Sport package.. WOW..

And sitting next to it, is my Baby, "The Beast"...

I am a Lucky man.

No, that is not my garage..I wish...But it is just a picture of the old Beast..

And the new Beast.

Compared to the 350Z, the 370Z Sport/Touring car is Just crazy sweet...

Yesterday, took first long drive since purchase. 2 hours, 40 minutes, from Tidewater to northern Virginia southeast of DC and back. Across the road from where Senator Warner used to live when he was married to Elizabeth Taylor. The car drove very well, the noise from the rear tires not enough to bother me, but I'm half-deaf from proximity to too many howitzers in Vietnam. Wife got along OK, too, and the low ride and seats did not bother her bad back. Seats were fine for me, comfortable, supportive. The controls are different from what I've been driving for 8 years (tend to keep cars a long time), and a little hard to get used to, but now OK.

The traction is marvelous, way huge safety factor for most situations. Blew around a BMW on a 2-lane turnpike cloverleaf without approaching the limit.

There is a slight tendency to wander over road imperfections, but not a significant problem. Plenty of horsepower for the highway. The nav system worked well, wife liked the directions better than the one on her car. Easy to exceed the speed limit, and had to be very careful because the roads were crawling with police cars on Memorial Day. Used cruise control a lot.

The gas mileage was good enough, 25.2mph at 74mph much of the trip.

All in all, it was a good first outing. A few photos of the destination in horse country in Gallery. Different angle here:

:icon18: I'm going to look into slip on shoes or shoes with Velcro Straps. :bowrofl:

My back has been feeling tight the last few days but it has been working itself loose later in the day. This morning I was doing intervals on the treadmill and my back locked up as I finished my last "hard" interval, I shut the treadmill off and dropped to the ground, laid there until I could somewhat crawl upstairs. It's still tight but at least I can stand upright now. I'll get Mini GaleForce to walk on it later. He'd love that. :happydance:

Trust me, I've tried to rep you. I usually get a message that says I need to spread more rep elsewhere first, then after i do and go back to rep you, I'm treated with a message saying I'm out of rep for 24 hours :shakes head: You are at the top of my list
