It's like the tweens in Civics and stuff that get killed in high school because they think their car can easily take a 35 mph corner at 75... plow straight off into a tree and die. I see it happen too often

Here, it's dumb kids trying to "drift, yo." Oops... off into the curb/forest/wall they go. Oh, look, I just got a vehicle risk adjustment on my insurance bill! :shakes head: we have had a few fatal accidents here when kids try to drift on public roads and hit poles/trees.

:iagree:

Which is why we are all supposed to drive DEFENSIVELY instead of offensively. There are lots of hazards out there. :)

thats why i dont dd the Z, to many idiots with a license

EDIT: that's my thing with gun laws. Illinois no concealed weapon laws and hard to get a license to own one, but they hand out driver's licenses to everybody just like that. A 16 year old with a car is more deadly then a guy carrying a gun. [end of rant]

^^ this is very true. :eekdance: especially these days with celphones and texting it's much worse than it was when the ofc were kids. we had no celphones, we had CB radio's if you were lucky. :rofl2: blackberries were fruits. i read a study on cnn yesterday(?) which found teenage girls are more distracted than boys while driving. :eekdance:

i too hate driving my Z during rush hr traffic. this is why if i take a day off to enjoy :driving: i only go out during geezer hour (9am-11:30am). i rarely take my car out late at night (drunk drivers), or very early morning hours (overhung drunk drivers). :ugh2: it's just not worth the trouble to me.

i worry about my G everyday when i take her to and back from work...but wat can i do? :(

disclaimer: 2 dont belong in the list above. :p

Ha ha, I was reading the list and was like :icon14:. I thought the mud and construction finally got to you and you lost it... :icon17:

Good to hear  First time I experienced oversteer was a few days ago on my way to work, I gunned it around a fast corner right before the office in the rain and the back went out a bit, VDC didn't help...only time I've unintentionally done that. The Conti DWSs have given me too much confidence in the rain.

I actually had my VDC on at the time. It certainly contributed to the situation.

hahaha, hi, mr.gale. :D

yah, it almost appeared as if the dump trucks were out starting to pave the asphalt with their paving machines and rollers this am, but not yet. :ugh2:

yah, that's another thing to watch out for when changing suspension setting. unless your car is planted with good sticky tires, it makes the VDC all confused. especially if you were expecting to turn the car with throttle... :icon14:

Yeah, I'd imagine VDC would encourage understeer. When I stepped on the throttle I was prepared for the back to go out but wanted to see if VDC would let it happen and sure enough, it did. Regained control pretty quickly but realised I really don't like the unpredictability VDC adds. Also adds confidence to people not prepaired for sh*t to go wrong.

Something to think about... How many of us grew up driving rear wheel drive vs. front wheel drive? I got my license driving a RWD car

KingZee 04-26-2012 12:53 PM

I went FW, AW, FW, RW
