Fill it to full.?

Dear Friends,i use my 370z only about 60 miles a week,do you think i should fill the tank to full, use it to empty[1 month] then fill again or fill it half, then use to empty[2 weeks].?Thanks for the advice.

Cjanik 06-05-2009 07:57 AM

wow, you Z owners are picky :p

just run it to empty. 1 month isnt long enough to make much of a difference.

You only enjoy your Z for 60 miles/week. Poor Guy! ;-)

Keep it as full as possible to avoid condensation forming in the tank....if you really think there will be long intervals you can add a fuel stabalizer to the tank as well. If nothing else, fuel prices will not be going down....

A month in the tank really shouldn't be an issue. I did a little research on the same subject because I only drive my Z about twice a week. From what I could tell there was nothing to worry about.

What he said.

Just dont run it close to empty - i like keeping mine over 1/2 full always unless its track day

ChrisSlicks 06-05-2009 12:29 PM

Even if it is a track day you definitely want it well over 1/4 tank to prevent fuel starvation issues under lateral load. It's going to happen more if you have race tires, but I've had it happen with wide sticky street tires.

Thanks for the replies,i will fill up full tonight as there is an offer here for 3 days,Shell V-power for the price of the 98 octane fuel.

spearfish25 06-05-2009 06:55 PM

Shell V power for the price of 98 octane fuel? Does that mean they are over-charging for it? Shell V power premium fuel is 93 octane...

He definitely misworded. It's like saying buy a Civic for the price a 370Z!

AK370Z 06-06-2009 12:27 AM

I usually fill up EVERY 5 days! :driving: If I were driving 60 miles a week, I'd probably go crazy! In last 5 days, I filled up twice btw!

Don't go to empty, you'll suck up bad stuff from the bottom of your gas tank. Try to refill just after a quarter of a tank .

i thought the pick up was at the very bottom of the tank? so the bottom stuff would be the first stuff to be burned would it not? could be wrong i have no idea just thats what i always figured and what makes sense in my head lol

60 miles a week? Sucks! haha. I fill up maybe 2-3 times a week. Love the Z but its hurting my wallet. Oh well.. Its worth it!

I usually just run it till it reminds me to fill up. I guess thats not good but then I will be filling up everyday!
