Buying and Shipping assitance needed

I have an issue you may be able to help with... I received a rear bumper cover from a forum member shipped via Greyhound... that's fine.
- HOWEVER, he wrapped it in syran wrap like it was a leftover salad!! And during the 900 mile journey it rubbed thru the syran wrap... thru the clear coat... thru the paint and I received a BROKEN Scratched and Gouged bumper cover.

Even the Greyhound shipping office said that they: "Shouldn't have accepted something wrapped this way". :shakes head:

----------------------------------------------------------

Question: Any thoughts on how to deal with the bumper and the forum member that does not reply to phone calls or txt's ??

Thank you for ur time,
~ Sean

Did you pay via Paypal? If so dispute it... That really sucks man and I hope it gets taken care of. Not trying to have you call that person out but if he doesnt resolve the issue you should post up who it is to steer other members away from him..

If he does this, then he knows s/he messed up on the transaction and is hiding with your money. Best bet is to file PayPal claim before it's too late.

It was just 1 thin layer of plastic wrap? Do you have :pics: of the damage/how it was wrapped?

I totally agree that if the seller takes care of it the name shouldnt matter... but like I said if your issue isnt resolved I think all us other members should be warned.. just my :twocents:

I agree, if after 3 or 4 days he doesn't respond, then dispute the charge with PayPal and get your money back. He knew better than to ship something in freaking Seran wrap.

Oh HELL no! Yeah man he needs to at least pay for the repairs, he could have easily gotten shipping insurance on it to avoid something like this. But since he decided not to put it in a box or at least wrap it up in something a little sturdier than plastic wrap, he's responsible for it now.

Its the shipping companies fault . Not the seller , as long as you got the part with out it being cracked or broken, there is not much you can expect, buying used parts.

When I restored the interior of a 1987 vette , almost every used plastic interior part I ordered thru the internet salvage yards, can in damaged or cracked.

If you want a perfect item sent thru the mail, you need to buy it new and have it professionally boxed and shipped by UPS, Fedex etc.

Really??? I completely disagree.. if the seller offers to ship, and boxes wraps it this poorly, I would say its 100% their fault!

They basically just admitted that they did not perform their due diligence and I would work this angle to get it replaced.

While I would typically try to go after the seller, getting it fixed/replaced is the most important thing and if the shipping admits fault, make them replace it.

I work for UPS, I see this sorta stuff all the time. They are not supposed to even accept it and I have seen so many go right back after it was pickedup and they feel it wasnt properly packed. ALSO remember, if the supervisor feels the item wasnt packed good enough ie like that up above, even if you purchased insurance, they wont cover it!!! Had a window company pack their windows like junk and had tons broken by the time they got way up north, UPS wouldnt cover them due to the thinly wrapped packaging. This sucks man, good luck.

inexcusable :shakes head:. sorry OP...

There is damage outside of the paint, correct? If not Im not sure why its a huge deal unless you didn't plan on having it repainted.
