Cars for Sale: 2009 Nissan 370Z in Boston, MA 02134: Coupe Details - 305827831 - AutoTrader.com
I was looking at that nismo 370z, i may pass on it due to the few mods (yes i want a stock nismo lol) but one thing im curious about is the brakes, the brakes say brembo on them and i no the nismo had the nissan brakes. so my question is how would i find out which brake pads i need if they were after market brembos?? |
send the seller an email!! It does look like they may be aftermarket or maybe they were just painted that way?
There are even some fake clip on covers out there too that say Brembo on them.
i was hopeing they were just painted, but i asked the dealer he said he believed they were stock, im going to guess the dealer has no clue about the brakes thow :shakes head:
Those look like the stock akebono brakes just painted red with a Brembo sticker on it but I don't think they're brembos
Not Brembos. Red paint and decals.
Not brembo for sure
370Z does NOT come with Brembo, 350z does
those are stock akebono's. brembos have a completely different shape to them.
I say pass on that due to the previous owner doing something horrible like that.

thank you for sorting that out for me, i knew the 370z doesnt have brembo's which kinda of mad me a little upset since i loved them on my 350z. i just wasnt sure if those were stock or not, but if i get the car im sure ill paint the brakes back to black and the wheels will be going back to silver.
One more note for you, the rotors used in NISMO 370z are NOT cross-drilled, and you don't know what the brake on that NISMO Z really is.
By looking at how the previous owner "Mod" the Z, I will strongly suggest you bypass this one. :ughdance: |
ya ive seen actually about 3 nismo's with the cross drilled rotors, im not sure why perfectly good rotors are getting changed. also if these are after market would i just need 4 calipers and pads of the sport model to go back to stock.
and besides intake, the only mods seem to be painted wheels, calipers(?) changed rotors, shaved off front emblem, and cf hood any other you guys see?
i would look elsewhere too.
and possibly driver-abuse

but again, it's an unknown rotor. And in most cases, it is always wise to buy a used car as OEM as possible.
I know the rotor itself is not a big deal, just leading me to imagine how the previous might have 'treated' the car. You know, try to make it looks well packaged by putting some cheap stuffs on the car the drive it like a rally. |
Hard to tell but it looks just like a stock Nismo with the addition of a few mods I wouldn't have done... such as the painted wheels, painted (or 40th Ann) calipers with the wrong logo, and the hood which I can't tell if it is black or CF.
If it were me I would be a bit concerned with the quality of the decisions but the thing does have only 16k on it. Then again the first 16k driven hard especially with an 09 that is prone to oil consumption may lead to issues... is the warranty up on it? What is under the hood or haven't you personally examined the car. EDIT: Read the posting... see that it has intakes, the hood is Seibon, and there is a 100k mile warranty on the powertrain... IMO you might be ok with this one (after removing the brembo decal that is). |
