So does the looseness of the seat stem from the lack of lock washers? I'm still not sure which bar to replace with the flat bar. Is it the bar that us "U-shaped"? I noticed that the passenger seat has the same bar and also has no lock washers.....

I have no noise from my passenger seat......but I usually never have anyone in the Z with me. Weight shift in the driver seat causes this once the car has been driven for a while. I first noticed the click after 800 miles on the car. Yes, bent on the ends, runs along the floor until it bends up at an S to the 10mm bolt connection. Road vibration that is felt due to the stiff suspension will cause the bolts to become loose enough to move with body weight shifting left to right in the seat. Lock washers will prevent this from occuring.

I hope you do know techs at Nissan are useless right? You have a better chance of seeing the G man upstairs than to have them find an intermittent problem. I went to the dealer to look at a new 370z, grabbed the seat by the butt cushion and rocked it up and down. It already had the click. I actually had this problem on my old 350z, it drove me nuts. Thanks for whoever that supplied the fix, thanks!

No problem

Changing the bar and lock washers are a beautiful thing.

does anyone know if this will correct the seat movement problem that others are having? or is this a different problem?

There seems to be many who don't just experience a "clicking sound" but actual movement of the seat during hard cornering. This would be a serious safety issue. I wonder why it doesn't get recalled.

Anyone else try this yet? I went to Lowe's and bought the needed supplies to try this fix. Was planning on doing it tomorrow.

However, I just went out to the car and took a peek under the seat. The movement that I can replicate by tugging up and down on the seat doesn't appear to originate at the base corners or the curved silver bar. It appears to e higher in the frame of the seat.

Anyway, wondering if anyone else has tried yet, because I don't want to spend my afternoon cutting and drilling steel if I'm noy going to be any better off.

No offense to the OP intended at all. Please don't take it that way. I just want to know if others have also had success.

Try just the lock washers without replacing the bar. Although I'm pretty sure the bar is the main reason this issue is fixed.

There is also a TSB out now if you want to take it to the dealer.
