sonic370 03-23-2012 08:57 PM

congrats on your vette. 09 with low mileage good find......
iv'e owned both and loved both.... one's an apple and one's an orange can't compare them.............imho though for the money both cars are tops in there class. hands down both win best bang for your buck..............enjoy...........

don't forget to wave at other vette drivers it's kind of a vette thing......
don't know why z drivers never wave back......

:iagree:, but I do like the 1st Gen Z32............

I will say congrats. I personally think the Z looks better, interior and exterior. However, I respect guys who like other looks. If everyone liked the same looks, every car would be the same, and that would be boring. Corvettes aren't the worst cars in the world. Especially the brand new ones.

Seriously. I remember when people showed a lot more respect in these forums. It's one thing to share your opinion, but it's another to be a **** about it.

I remember some guy on here totaled his Z, bought an Evo and went on a rant that it has Brembos, AWD, Recaro's, Turbo, etc and it's so much fun and he loved it. A month later he made a thread in the classifieds trying to sell his Evo to get another Z or trade the Evo for a Z lol. The Z just has something unique about it, don't get me wrong I thought about those other cars but when I get back in the Z and drive I feel at home.

+1 damn i love that post. exactly!

although, i always have love the Vette.....my dad had a white '73 stingray...and idk i was hooked from then on... but couldnt afford it (insurance)...... the Z? fit both my problems.

i see the Vette as a Sleek sexy Brute (american)
i see the 370z as a Sleek sexy asian.

damn i wanna drive and listen to that Asian moan.:wtf2::yum:

Congrats on the purchase, I am sure it'll be a ton of fun. Plus you will get much more hp per dollar than on the Z.... if your into modding.

Every car is good in different ways, but for the street, unless the Z is F/I, it will never be capable enough to take even a base vette. But of course since this is a Z forum, many will cop out on the interior part. Or others will pull the reliability card which would be false. Vettes are completely reliable just like many other cars out there.

Have fun with it.

cossie1600 03-23-2012 11:56 PM

Mine wasn't reliable, but neither is my 370

I know, everyone thinks their car is perfect, hence it is like a circle jerk party sometimes....

CC_370z 03-24-2012 09:36 PM

I'm happy with the car. I have nothing against the Z, my dad has one when I was growing up. That is why I decided to buy 370z.

The Corvette is something I always wanted... now I got one

Congrats on the Corvette and finding one in that condition!! I drove my friends Corvette a few weeks ago and I really liked it. I like the way the center console is angled towards the driver.

m4a1mustang 03-25-2012 04:27 AM

And they say its Vette drivers that are insecure! Wow.

Congrats on the new ride.

mantella87 03-25-2012 07:06 AM

Congrats on the 'Vette CC! And yeah, this forum has both extremes, the people who are always cheerful almost to the point of ignorance and then there are the people who sound like Eeyore.

cossie1600 03-25-2012 10:14 PM

OP, buy the GMPP if you plan to keep your car. You can get them from online vendor for $1000-2000 before your factory warranty comes out, it's well worth it.

I'm coming from the other direction. Sold my C6 last summer (it was my third) in anticipation of the C7. Got itchy for a another sports car so I went with a Z this time. Although I miss the sheer power of the Vette, I don't miss it's shortcomings and I find the Z a helluva lot more fun to drive. I've had ten Vettes and three Z's and I'm not sure what my next sports car might be. Usually I'd opt for the Vette, but the next gen NSX, GT-R and Z will be in the running, along with the C7 (unless they really screw it up).

Enjoy your Vette. It's an awesome car.

Below are a couple shots of my C6's and an interesting thread on the Corvette forum that addresses this very subject. Obviously, there are insecure tools on all forums.

I too, wanted to wait for the C7 but, C6 is very capable and a good car. So far I am happy with the car and the acceleration always put a smile on my face. To me I feel that I the 370z is a bit quicker but only time would tell since I haven't really open my Corvette up yet or get used to it yet :leghump:.

I took the top of my Corvette today and enjoying the wind and air of an open top. It was awesome until I stop at the gas station and it was $4.07 per gallon for a total of $56.00 to fill the Corvette up-same as the 370z.

Wow dude, I skimmed through some of that. How did you put up with some of those guys? Especially that DRM500RUBYZR-1 guy...

Fire 03-27-2012 11:57 PM

Wow Vagas talk about tools. I've owned Vette's before, including a SC 69 vert with 4" side pipes, custom stereo and a 4speed. I love my 370Z vert but hate that I cannot track it. It is why I'm getting a ZL1 Camaro. Don't understand all the bashing. On the Camaro site they where bashing not only my Z but also the GTR. I doubt they had even ever driven them so how can you bash what you don't know about?

Nismo89 03-28-2012 12:21 AM

someday... i hope to have the best of both worlds..... a Z and a Vette.

but that dream is so far down the road ...

Fire 03-28-2012 12:30 AM

That would be nice. I cannot do it either right now.

Brutal 370Z 03-28-2012 12:37 AM

Congrats! Sweet ride! My dad had a c6 in electric blue. I loved driving it, especially with the targa top off. Enjoy!

You can't take idiots like that guy seriously. I like to mess with them, though. Obviously, he's defined by his car and probably doesn't have much a of life beyond it, so I actually feel a bit sorry for him.

Some people need the bragging rights I guess. I just want to have fun with a car and there are many to choose from. No need to bash anyone else's choice.....unless you're completely insecure, I suppose.

Well said. If you actually bought a car based on what other people had to say about it, you'd probably never buy one. How many times has someone said something stupid to you about your car or asked you why you didn't get this or that? Too many. **** 'em.

Nothing wrong with a Vette. Ah, the radio stack cheapen the interior but, you can fix that really easy guys. Plus can you say HUD. That's pretty nice stuff there. Someday I'd like to get a C6/C7 ZR1.

The 370Z is my DD though. I plan on getting over 250K miles on my Nissan. I'd be glad to get 150K miles on my Vette. Plus, Vette doors are just too big for the big city in my opinion. That's is why my Supercharged Firebird get weekend duty too. It's fast but those darn doors. GM and big doors; what's up with that? I'll have to say the wife likes the Vette better than the Z. That is because of the magnetic ride and she was a naysayer at first. I like the competition mode

Good Luck - OP !!!! Come back and say hi every once in a while. You'll always understand and appreciate a Z I'm sure. :hello:

Yeah, there is just something about a Z. I'm on my seventh Z now for many reasons. However, Vettes are pretty nice for what they are.

Yeah, what up with that.... It used to be in the early days. I still wave at 350Z and 370Z. I get a wave back about 50% of the time now. :hello:
