Am i the only one that always get nervous when parking outside of a convenient story or gas station? Like i will be inside of am/pm and i wouldnt stop thinking that some jerk will ding my doors.

I am not too concern about being hit cause my insurance will cover the repairs, but door dings are just...

Oh I def have separation anxiety from my Z and I always wonder what is going on and cannot trust anyone lol

I honestly think it is simply bad luck with that car.
Same happened to me with my Altima coupe which made me trade it in for my Z. I had the car for 4 years would be 5 years this year sept. I had five car accidents with it. 4 of them in the EXACTLY same spot quarter panel driver side. And 2 of them was exactly a year apart from one another and just two blocks away from where the other one was. Mind you everytime I got hit I was NOT speeding and those accidents doesn't count scratches and dents from parking places. people that hit me with their doors and etc. well all of that made me just not love that car anymore and made me trade it in my car. I HOPE HOPE HOPE I don't have this bad luck with my Z now. I HOPE !!! Try parking away from everyone and paying for parking lots and all. That's what I have been doing with my Z

I'm just glad my girl is my weekend fun car. People don't care about other peoples property, in this economy most are hating even more than they normally do. All i can suggest is to be as cautious as possible if you have to park your Z, and enjoy her as much as you can. :driving:

People feel compelled to park as close as they possibly can.

I forget who's car this was but I never forgot these images. :shakes head:

Yes, people just like to hate because they don't have one or make enough money to get one, I know we don't have the most expensive car out there, but we appreciate our cars. Everytime I see a Z I always park next to it in courtesy of them knowing I won't hit them, its like mutual respect. If you see my NISMO please park behind me I don't want my exhaust getting banged up by some ******* who doesn't appreciate a nice car. I live in a gated community, and they all love my car, they actually save a parking spot just for my Z because they understand how much time I spend on her.

I wash her like twice a week to keep her clean, and they all want a ride in her. Its nice to see that there are some people out there that are nice, and others just hate because they are probably on welfare and think that we get this **** for free when we don't.

Maybe it's me. I avoid hitting any cars, regardless if it is a Porsche or a Kia. I stay away from them and I hope they stay away from me

I agree, people just have no respect for other people's property. I usually park at the far ends of the parking lot as well.

There have been recent window bashing at my gym recently. The parking garage is a 3 level garage and I usually hit the courts at night and initially parked on the 2nd/3rd floor because they were empty. After hearing of my friends windows getting bashed in I started parking with the other cars but try and find the nicest car possible to park next to. To the point where I'd circle 2-3 times to find the perfect spot.

Anybody else have this problem? Park too far away from everyone and you have to be cautious about thieves and people vandalizing?

Skeeterbop 03-20-2012 10:49 PM

I try to park next to islands and get as close as possible to the curb, even then I had one guy hit my passenger side door at a 45 degree angle while backing up. To make it worse he had nearly two parkingspots of space to back into and he still hit me. Also on almost a daily basis I watch people park and nearly clip the front of my car. Usually while I'm sitting in it listening to the radio during lunch. Who knows how many more near misses there has been when I'm not around.

I remember a guy on Autopia that was a little whacked about his car (It's a cleaning site, a lot of OCD people). He carried cones and caution tape with him wherever he went and roped off his car so people would say away from it. He also had these big inflatable bumpers that hung from the window sills (think inflatable pool raft) to protect the doors just in case someone got inside the caution tape. Everyone thought he was just joking @ first then realized that it was really the way the guy parked. And it wasn't like it was a Veyron or something, just an average car.

I remember seeing that thread, it made me feel much more normal... Although I will admit I have contemplated buying one of those inflatable car bubbles with an air/humidity filtration system to park my car in. :icon17:

its not just the z...

my tahoe, yes, my 6000+ lb full size suv has been ran into twice, one parking lot hit and run and a parking lot $7000 t-bone where this douche without a license in an uninsured/unregistered F-250 backed into me. He tried to leave the scene but i blocked him in.

The second was three days after the first incident in the post office parking lot where a Chevy pick up backed up into me. This was a blessing in disguise as he hit me in the exact same place where I was originally hit. His insurance paid for all the repairs. The third and last was again, the front right corner. This time is a 4-5 inch long scratch running towards the tire well.

When I park my car, no matter where I am I always ensure I'm centered in the parking spot I choose. I take every precaution including parking away from the higher traffic areas. I don't know what else to do other than leave a piece of paper scotch taped to my window saying:

PLEASE DON’T HIT MY CAR. YOU MAY NOT LIKE YOUR CAR, BUT I LOVE MINE!

Any other suggestions?

Have it blessed
