A while ago in my old Pathfinder, I was driving at night and I thought I had hit a bird. Didn't see anything smeared on the bumper when I got home. The next morning I heard a squeaking noise in the garage. I go to investigate and I saw a bat on the ground just in front of the vehicle. Startled me as it looked like a small rat at first. Thought I could contain it by putting a box over it until I could figure out what to do...eg, call the SPCA to seek their advice. Had to rush to work right away, and when I came home, bat was no longer contained...wasn't hiding anywhere in the garage...didn't know how it escaped the box and the garage for that matter.

It's under your bed. It'll come out and bite you on the neck when you least expect it.

His last chirps were probably drowned out by the VQ's roar

cc370z 03-08-2012 06:57 AM

I had something similar. Had the car on the lift and saw this through the grill..... No idea how long it had been there. But It fell to pieces when I tried to pull it out. Poor little bird.

Reason I was taking the bumper off was because I had bought some new LED's for the parking lights that work and look similar to the projector housing of the main lights. Well when I was installing the second one it came loose of the harness and dropped into the headlight housing. On the next sunny day when I could take it out of the garageI took it over to a friends house and proceeded to remove the bumper to get the headlight loose to retrieve the bulb. Had worked my side loose and was waiting for my partner to get his loose when I noticed a few small feathers on the loom. Thought it was a little weird so I pulled the bumper back and to my surprise was the dead bird. I told my buddy you wont believe what is on the radiator support. He guessed a wrench, but then looked over and said "No ^%$%ing way". He didnt hit anything from what I could see. Litterally looked like he worked himself in there and then **** himself and fell over dead.
