brucelidat 03-05-2012 11:36 AM

Jasonle 03-05-2012 11:38 AM

:eek::eek::eek: that sucks!

Shadowx2x 03-05-2012 11:38 AM

yea it was authentic Amuse

anthonyy 03-05-2012 11:40 AM

damn sorry man... :shakes head:
at least insurance will cover the OEM replacement cost...

Jamaica 03-05-2012 11:40 AM

Oh my. Hopefully insurance will cover it

Nick911sc 03-05-2012 11:59 AM

**** man, that blows... Did you make your insurance company aware of the Amuse kit prior to the accident? If not... I wouldn't expect anything besides OEM Rear...

EDIT:: Actually.. Since the garbage truck hit you, I'd see about forwarding Amuse Repair estimates to the garbage trucks company to see about correct compensation... It's worth a shot...

370zproject 03-05-2012 12:00 PM

ouch!

onzedge 03-05-2012 12:06 PM

:gtfo2: that totally blows - sorry!! +1

wheee! 03-05-2012 12:37 PM

Ouch man. Good luck with repairs! Post up the repair pics when you're done!

alcheng 03-05-2012 12:39 PM

such fragile.....

370Ztune 03-05-2012 12:50 PM

Sorry to hear Luis!

The damage looks like it could probably be repaired though. You'd be very surprised what kind of repairs can be made to FRP, as long as you have a competent body shop.

DLSTR 03-05-2012 12:53 PM

Very sorry to see this. You may have some leverage here with the company owning the truck. No MERCY! :)

nmjaxx9 03-05-2012 12:58 PM

noo not the amuse! Atleast you are okay, good luck on the fix/repair. :tiphat:

So whose fault was it?? Anyway to claim from the city or truck company??

NYBladeZ 03-05-2012 01:03 PM

looks like the rear quarter got a little dinged also. The insurance company should compensate you the cost of an OEM bumper so you can put that toward buying a new amuse bumper. I know its not genuine but UAM makes a good replica which would cost less giving you a quality replacement without busting your wallet.

Amen to this! My father in laws truck got clipped by the town garbage truck and they paid him way mor then the parts on his truck were worth. I would call the city and give them the police report and estimates and get them to pay for your parts. When you get an estimate I would just show them your sales receipts for the Amuse kit....

Good luck!!

Scorpio0124 03-05-2012 01:16 PM

 Dude... I'm so sorry.. Just think it could have been the the whole side or worse.

Hopefully insurance will pick it up entire cost & not just OEM replacement.

Gauge 03-05-2012 01:17 PM

Am I the only one who would expect the WM company to pay for this?

They are responsible to pay for the damages, you can put a claim in with their company rather than putting one through your own. if you have a competent insurance agent I recommend you contact them and tell them you want to put the claim in with their company and not yours.

ALSO: I hope you got a police report documenting the accident

Yeah, if that is fiberglass, that shouldn't be that hard to repair (looks like only one major rip/crack). I was just fiberglassing the 3 pieces of my racecar this weekend. No hard at all, just takes time to clean it up afterward.

I'm sure it could be repaired... If it wasn't his fault I would make sure a new part is purchased and put in place.

delusional 03-05-2012 06:28 PM

man thats just crazy. yesterday everything was still perfectly fine. :crying: good luck with the repairs louis.

Basic crack, get the money for a new piece, and then fix the crack, pocket the money.

ZeeingAround 03-06-2012 08:25 AM

I am the opposite. Get the money and buy a new one, put the cracked one up for sale.

thetaste 03-06-2012 08:52 AM

Nyc.....

LakeShow 03-06-2012 09:01 AM

Damn bro that sucks. I've seen how those A-holes in the garbage trucks drive at least here in NY. They have no regard for traffic and just drive like idiots and drive across the opposite lanes and cut off people and park in stupid positions. Good luck
