leepeen hasn't posted anything since 7:56am ET today. My guess is he's chauffeuring his brother around right now. :driving:

What's love got to do with it? His brother has been in five (5) accidents in the last three (3) years. It's a rental all the way. Which by the way, doesn't his brother have a rental car usage on his insurance policy? At times I'd rather deal with my worst enemies than to deal with family...it's much easier, less costly, and time-consuming.

Or maybe he and his brother had a knock down, drag out fight over this and he's been sent to his room, grounded from the internet the rest of the day. :argue:

Yeah, I like that better. :icon17:

It's just a frickkin' car. Unless my brother was an addict, alchoholic, or clearly abused cars while driving them, I'd just loan it to him, no questions asked. The worst that can happen is money.

But then, my brother would make sure to make it right if anything bad happened. Not sure if yours would...

Some of the responses on here really concern/sadden me.

It actually hurts to see that some of you do not have such a great relationship with your own blood.

Nobody except my wife drives my car. Period. And since my wife doesn't like my "loud" car... she doesn't even drive it.

Perfect.

You can drive my car if you want.

Your brother sound like a responsible person that he's concern of being late to work, and you're concern enough to even consider lending him your brand new Z. I suggest putting him in a rental car or drive him to or from work.

nogoodname 06-01-2009 03:41 PM

stop saying put him in a rental car.....either drive him to work b/c he's ur blood or give him a ride to the rental place and he can rent his own car.

just give a ride........i would give a ride to my bro...and to my friends..... and i hope they would do the same for me.

baboola 06-01-2009 06:43 PM

hehe...this has turned into such a heated debate, just to add my .02

everyone has different values. some people see their car (Z..ahem) as JUST a car, while some may see the car as their second wife (or the only wife). Because everyone has different value/priority, of course there is going to be different responses. there's no need to be concerned about people's relationship with their blood. excuse the crude analogy i'm about to give, but would you lend your brother your wife because he's recently divorced and needs some attn? (may seem exaggerated by some of you, but i hope it gets the point across).

What's important is that person is doing whatever he/she can for the brother. That's what brother love is all about!

If i had a brother, i would drive him everywhere if I got time, or make arrangements so that he has a car. Lending him my baby? Not a chance!

frost 06-01-2009 06:47 PM

In short, no way would I let him drive the car. Just the fact he has to ask shows irresponsibility.

nogoodname 06-01-2009 07:27 PM

what comes around goes around......karma bites hard.

if you can't help a family member...that's just sad....it's not hard to give a lift to someone. you guys are acting like the bro should sit on the curb for a ride.

CBRich 06-01-2009 09:14 PM

I agree that he should definitely be helped out which is why I say go ahead and give him a ride. But letting him borrow it would be irresponsible on the owner's part knowing that this person has a bad history with automobiles. Not only are you endangering your car, you are possibly helping to endanger other drivers and passengers on the road.

i agree with socal.

I suspect his brother is trying to pull a fast one by saying yo bro i need a car real bad please let me drive your Z. Goal was to get his hands on the Z instead of a nice rental
