Anyone using their 370Z as a Camper?

I haven't yet but I'm really tempted to sleep in my car. Is it wrong to want to spend all my time in my car? Has anyone started a support group for addicted 370Z owners? This car is amazing. The performance is fantastic and the stying of the car are well... I just love how it looks. I love how they've integrated the looks of the 240Z but didn't try to make it look like an updated version like all the other retro cars out ther. My wife thought I was crazy buying a car I hadn't driven or even sat in.

I remember when I got my celica I wanted to sleep in it cause I was in love with it that much, but still my bed was calling and the car was waiting.

Thats a priceless feeling man. Hopefully getting a Z in AUG.

The first night when i brought mine home about 11:30 or so i had to go to the garage and turn the light on to see if i actually had it. Last night i was riding shotgun to a friend i let drive the z and was messing aroung with the controls, turned on the heated seats and man they felt pretty good. My back is screwed up so a little at home heat therapy would of done good.

ZYUL8R 05-31-2009 11:19 AM

When i got mine the first few days all i did was drive, drive , drive.

arcticreaver 05-31-2009 11:28 AM

i don't think i can't get up after sleeping in this car. my back would be messed up and i'm only 24!!!!

CBRich 05-31-2009 03:36 PM

I don't drive mine daily but I will pop the garage door open and just check on it every day.

Pushing_Tin 05-31-2009 05:37 PM

This thread is begging for a good photo shop!

Or a bad one:

Hehe the first night I was talking to my car (OK so it was actually the voice training for the voice recognition). My wife kept coming out to talk to me. So the third time she got into the car she says "you do realize the rest of us live in the house right?"

CBRich I don't recall that option... nicest Mags I've ever seen on a camper though ;)

Trips 05-31-2009 07:35 PM

:rofl2:LoL. Priceless

FricFrac 05-31-2009 07:52 PM

Lol - my wife wants to know if there is a color matched version of the camper ;)

NXTAZEE 06-01-2009 12:19 AM

I can't wait for mine to arrive. The day I get it will be spent washing, claying, polishing, waxing and buffing it's curvaceous body. After that it will be hard to resist sleeping it the first night. FricFrac I know exactly how you feel. My wife feels the same way about cars, she's a car nut. I'm hoping we get our Z with the early June shipment. I can't take much more of this :driving:

FricFrac 06-01-2009 12:43 AM

I'll be ready to go for a cruise when you get 'er.... I'll bring the marshmallows too ;P

Well, way back in the day, in my early 20's, I had the unfortunate circumstance of becoming homeless. I wasn't sleeping on the streets though, because I had my '85 300ZX!

Head underneath the rear hatch handle, legs pushed up onto the center console between the seats... it was a tight fit, but it got the job done!

Diversion 06-01-2009 04:30 PM

The next day after I bought my Z I leaped out of bed (much earlier than I usually get up) and got a rush of excitement and ran to the garage and turned the light on to see it sitting there.. I still couldn't believe I actually owned it. It's been a long time since i've been this excited about a car..

Weeks later i'm getting very used to it now.. Still nice to break necks of people looking at it though. It feels slower now too because im used to it's power. Time for mods.

FricFrac 06-02-2009 12:49 AM

.. hehe I waited a whole week before I ordered in my high flow cat, cat back exaust and G3 intake - lookout + 50 HP ;)

Hehe I remember sleeping in my 280ZX after driving a ways out of town to pick up a front air dam..

Those pics are dangerously close to showing effort. That first one looks like it's breaking in half. LOL.

FricFrac 06-02-2009 05:44 PM

Is there another vehicle as hideous as the Aztec or as sexy as the 370Z? This is like the Sweet and Sour combo - I think it works ;)

semtex 06-02-2009 06:14 PM

Think, spawn of Danny Devito and Jessica Alba.

Dear god, no! There is nothing as ugly as an Aztec. I read somewhere someone called it a garbage truck. Yep, that's exactly what it looked like.

Who in their right mind would ever look at that thing and say to themselves "Yep, that's the car for me"?? :icon14:

Hrrmmm... maybe it's just been a while, but I think I'd do her in the back of her Aztec! (at least you wouldn't be forced to look at the OUTSIDE of the thing!)

She's even got a tramp stamp! :icon18:

I'm also buying mine without ever seeing one in person. My local dealers don't have any on the lot. I am a 350z owner and i love it...gotta have the 370. Seeing how much 370z owners love and praise their car on here I have no doubt. Next week baby!

semtex 06-18-2009 10:59 AM

Whereabouts in WV are you, Premo? I've got family in Wheeling, Sistersville, Parkersburg and Charleston (all on the wife's side).

OnCallZ 06-18-2009 01:24 PM

The very first night of ownership I woke up around midnight and played around with the nav, playing around with the nav made me want to drive it, so I took a short trip around the neighborhood, that only got me more excited so I drove it out on the road and did a few high speed passes. I tried real hard not to go above 5k but I failed.....
I was going to sleep inside but I didn't want to suffocate, gota hate humid summer nights in florida

FricFrac 06-19-2009 12:49 AM

I've had my car for almost a month now and I still want to spend every waking moment driving in it or at least sitting in it..... any excuse to go out for a drive....
