True and I'm not wanting to do that. My exhaust and intake will be the only performance mods I do. I'm plenty happy with the power it puts out. I've had it for just over a year now and love it more now than ever.

You should finalize with some JDM pieces like the rear light, the motor for the mirrors, jdm cargo net and clear tail lights. :) A GTR start button livens up the dash too.

Or trying to get a faster 1/4 mile time cuz I live my life 1/4 mile at a time :P

Cost

the Z is already IMO over priced for what it offers and DCT would drive that cost up even more

I also think with the Z heritage, manual is important. As more cars switch to DCT, the manual will become rarer in sports cars and there will be demand for it when most sports cars eventually become DCT.

trans are the best trans in any car that cost under 40k

Under what set of criteria?

maybe features? both rev-match during downshift, AT has paddles that are stationary to the steering column, locking tc gear 2-6... MT has pretty slick gates, not wobbly not notchy, agressive gearing which we like.

Have you driven both Mitsubishi EVO MR/GSR? I would say mitsu kills us on tranny performance.
BMW 135DCT it would cost about 44k but its so close to 43k and feels awesome. 6mt 135l128/328?
Mazda 6mt in the rx8 and miata?

The Z is EXCELLENT. In the top 5 but not the best.

So, to be fair, transmissions are very subjective, and I respect that...just seems like a bold statement with no backing.
If the criteria is technology, sure, the 6MT has some neat rev-matching...but by that standard, the 7AT has a tough time against the EVO's DCT, or the DCT in the 135i....

If you go on anything else, you might subjectively say that you like the transmissions, but it is a pretty bold assertion to say they are the best under 40K...with no backing...
