Differing opinions. I've made it a rule to always change out factory fills at ~1500 miles in all of my new cars. Seems to work for me. I can say the gear oil in the rear diff was very nasty, and there was a lot of metallic particulates on the magnet. So, it was worth the 15 minutes it takes to do it...IMHO

OP, so after your initial 1500 mile changes, do you change the differential fluid after the usual ~10k-15k miles?

Yes, I change my oil at the 5K points just to keep it simple, so will change the rear diff and tranny at 15K and 15K intervals thereafter...
