Are the stock Bridgestone tires come with mileage warranty?
I got my 370Z less than a year and about 12k. On my last oil change, dealership said it is flat and need to be replaced. Is it normal?
|
yea that sounds normal. no there is no warranty on tires other than the manufacturer's (of the tires) warranty. typically tires on Z's last 10-20k miles depending on how you drive, most seem to fall in the 10-15k mile range, i've seen some last less than that.

:iagree:
If by flat they mean no tread, then that is believable. I managed to get close to 18k out of mine. They still have some tread left but I know it won't pass an inspection. I've also seen a few people claim as much as 24k on the stock tires. Not sure how they drive, but when I'm home i definitely drive aggressively on the back roads of east TN (or any windy not very populated/trafficked road). I've also got a few days at the drag stirp and a bunch of highway miles on mine. so I'm very satisfied with the wear of the stockers. |
If your alignment is good and you just drive highways and freeways you'll get top mileage. If all your time is on surface streets your mileage will suck. All of the turning and maneuvering associated with surface street operation is very abrasive on tires.

I'm at 18K and need new tires, but yeah it's a wear item.

I have 23K miles on my Z and tires are still good. I bought it with the tires on already though, so I don't know how new they were. It had about 13K miles on it when I bought it.

I've put every mile on my tires (well, all but 45) :D

my OEM warranty on my murano did cover tires up to a certain percentage i don't know if the z's warranty does though (kinda doubt it)

I seen quite a few guys on here make it to 22k miles here with normal to mildly aggressive driving. One or two guys seen 25k. But I've also seen a few guys need new tires at 5k miles. I think these tires are very unpredictable as to how long they'll last. Your driving method and type of road you drive will play a serious role in tire wear.

I replaced my Bridgestones at 7,250 miles and .3 tread. I was at the wear bars and headed to the track for the first time and did not want to fail inspection. I do not lay down rubber until the night before I change them out.
I long ago tried to use mileage warranty's only to have them tell me I drove too hard. Once I was even accused of spinning the front tires on my 280Z. :rofl2: I just accept that tires that get lots of cornering wear are not covered. That's life. My Michelins are better. |
yea i only got 8xxx mile out of mine.... my .02
