I do sort of feel this subject is like talking about the Nigerian scam, only to have people look at you as this is news to them.

:icon18: I know I feel bad especially when you know how easy any one of the three fixes are to do! I am so happy I have had mine fixed now for this whole past driving season for me  get in and I have no worries about not being able to :driving: away

I got REV E!!! The dealer billed Nissan $470 or something for that part

LMBmikeZ 11-28-2012 08:03 PM

Nice

Always better having some one else get the bill instead of you to! :D

I just installed my little bypass kit, after sitting on it for 2 months for no good reason. Took all of 3 minutes to put it in. I'm gonna miss that steering lock sound, lol. Nice I'll never have to worry again.

What were you waiting for! would have sucked if it went out while you were waiting to instal the bypass! I did the same to mine but I installed it the day I got mine!

Tell me about it... I'd have kicked myself in the nuts if I had the solution to the problem sitting in my glove box when the lock went out.

Regardless, it's taken care of now!

LMBmikeZ 11-28-2012 10:48 PM

 now you can start it up every time with less to fear!

As a my matter of curiosity, why did you consider it necessary to remove the fuse if the dealer had replaced the failed part? Did you fear the replacement part would be just as vulnerable to failure as the original part?

cossie1600 12-01-2012 09:12 AM

It failed four times already (rev A, B, C, D). It's a $500 gamble to see if there will be REV F....

OldGuy 12-01-2012 09:17 AM

That's an outrage. Nissan should be ashamed for not recalling all these Z's and getting the problem cleaned up.

cossie1600 12-01-2012 10:41 AM

Too bad we don't have enough owners and failures, else there should be a class action

Even though my car was still under warranty and saved me from paying $500. I didn't want to go through the hassle of it again. When i had it replaced it took about a month since the part was on back-order so that pissed me off. Taking out the fuse takes all the worrying away.
