It is a Z for crying out loud. Geesh. You have to roll with it. People who moan about the Z should daily drive '72 and '71 240z's like I have for many years and then complain about Z issues. The stuff associated with the 370 is child's play.

kenchan 02-25-2012 05:46 PM

getting stranded is not child's play but you're the pro with Z's so

True, stranded is no good. A few of my 240's used to love simply quitting, at speed, due to difficult-to-track-down electrical gremlins. The last time was a few years ago on 405 south near the 101 merge. In the car-pool lane around noon, I watched the tach drop to zero. It is large giggles coasting across 4 lanes of LA traffic to the shoulder at around 65 mph. BTW -- I will never ever purchase anything again from Mallory.

...not for Z's they can't. The dual point centrifugal only advance are awesome -- right up to the point that they decide their lives are meaningless and they take the coward's way out by self-destructing.

I'm thinking about ordering mine if the dealer let me do it to take to ZdayZ, just in case. Don't want to get stock 8 hrs from home.

That looks like it...it happened twice to me.

Steering column sensor

So my 09z got the flatbed ride to the dealer last week for the steering column sensor lock failure. As luck would have it they had the parts and I was driving it home that night. I spoke with the service manager at the dealership and he said there is nothing he can do since it was past the 36K warranty period. He did suggest I call Nissan consumer affairs and speak with them. Has anyone done this with any success? The manager made it sound like they would quietly take care of this issue but I should know in 48 hours. I'll post the results but if anyone called and had success I'd like to hear about it. $1100 back in the bank would be a nice X-mas gift from Nissan.

Hey I just had this happen to me 2 weeks ago! I call nissan consumer affairs, I talked to a regional specialist and his supervisor and I receive no help! I pleaded my case that I had only bought the car 5 months ago, that it was nissan pre owned certify, I talked to them for like for 30min they just said not enough ppl have reported the issue so nissan has not recalled.

Please call!! Tell them that's its on all 09/10 370Z's, and that Nissan should recall the part! They did it in the 09 GTR's. below is a link to a thread that has really good information you can use. Tell me how it goes and whether they cover for you.

They won't do anything no matter how much you plea or bring up their other models failing the same way. They just don't care. I suppose they only recall it on the 09 GTR's because those cars are $100K cars. This will be my last Nissan.

Unless it's a GTR! haha

Need to get on one of those tv news reports that some tv stations have. They do a feature when people can't get help. If it hits the air waves. Maybe then Nissan will get off their a$$.
