I guess I'll join the crash club too

Crashed my z today, very pissed right now. Road conditions were very bad, I was going around a corner and the back slipped out, tried to counter steer and hit a dry patch, the car swang the other way sending me over a curb into a pole. So far from what I can tell its mostly cosmetic damage since i was able to drive home fine, that being said if anyone has anything like a front bumper, right fender, right head light that they would like to sell to me feel free to PM me.

Man, that sucks. I am glad you are OK -- your Z will get better too.

Hey dude I feel for you.
As it happens, I just replaced my fenders this past week and have a near mint, Magnetic Black front right fender. I'm not local or I'd tell you to come pick it up at the house, but if you want to cover shipping it's yours. PM me....:tiphat: |
Sorry to hear that, sucks..... hope it won't cost too much to get it fix.
When I first saw the title of the thread, I thought it was another steering lock incident. LOL |

I hear that, i drive my Z in 20-30 degree temps when there isn't snow/sleet. The tires absolutely hate it (stock tires), but what can you expect? I have one heavy turn on the way to work on the highway and I take it easy afterwards and if the bitches behind me are pissed that that I'm only going 5 over, then screw 'em - they shouldn't be going that fast as it is...especially with their awful driving skills.
|
too soon to say "Time for a body kit"?
|
Hey guys thanks for your responses, I'm very excited to see that people are willing to help me out with this. Yes the VDC was off so that wasn't smart on my part I understand, the reason I had it off because it would help me to get going when I come to a complete stop in the snow because it would always kick in and limit the revs to 1500 for me.
As far as going with a body kit, If I end up having to get this fixed through the insurance because the city makes a claim to it about the pole, then yes Ill most likely get either an amuse or a stillen front bumper. |

But it's this way with most high-performance cars. Especially "attainable" ones like a Z. I used to have a WRX and did my fair share of NASIOC, back in the day. Same story over there. Visit any Mustang or Camaro forum and you'll find similar tales of woe. Especially in the winter. :icon14: Back to the OP... Glad you're ok. That's a freak-out moment for sure. Poles suck. Good luck dealing with insurance. That can be great or awful, depending on your agent & carrier. I hope you it goes well for you. |
Just say no to Winter driving unless you have the right tires. ;)
Hope you can get it fixed cheaply outside of insurance :tiphat: |
