Im sorry to hear that. People can just get so low these days. maybe a good set of locking lugs might help on your next set of wheels. Good luck. keep us posted

I hate theives.

Not to hijack, but there's nothing pretentious about being surprised when an area known for NOT having crime has crime, which is what I assume rooster was reacting to. That's different from thinking there NEVER could be crime in a nice area (any area really)

The reference to Craig's list made me think it would be a good idea to put some kind of identifying mark on the wheels. Even if a set showed up and the police checked you would still have to be able to identify the wheels as the ones stolen from your car. Any ideas on a good way to put some kind of ID mark on the wheel without creating a rust spot?

My 2002 Yamaha R6 was stolen in 2005. The theives were caught a few months later. The bike turned up in FL in 2009. I'm not sure what happened to the bike since I was paid off by insurance.

Hope justice finds them, one way or another.

Very true. Anything to slow them down and they'll pass you by and go to the next guy. Locking lugs, The Club (even on a car with an immobilizer, it's dumb, but it's a big visual and adds just one more layer for them to get through), aftermarket alarm light even if it's fake, etc. I unfortunately know from experience. Thieves suck.

Is there somewhere else you can park for a while? They might come back.

Pics or it didn't happen. J/K
Hope you get everything settled soon.

Don't forget to have the TPMS replaced... even if you go aftermarket, you will want those.

kenchan 01-19-2012 11:51 AM

op- any updates on your situation? u get new wheels/alarm yet?
