Holy crap! in norwood park?! I'd expect it in bridgeport but srsly! norwood park?!?! and they rimmed your car. damn.

l hate thieves, I hope those bastards get caught. :shakes head:

OP, you could use this opportunity to get new wheels, just talk to your ins. rep and see if they can just cut you a check for the price of the stockers (gonna be more than what you see them go for on here) and also find out if ins. will cover the aftermarket wheels and if so, how much more $$ will that cost you, if any.

Doesn't mean those aren't yours. They might have posted before they got them to cover it up. I doubt they took yours 'off the cuff', and that they actually planned it.

I was gonna mention this too. If it was only posted a day ahead of time I feel it's a good chance they knew they were gonna be stealing your wheels. If you dont park the Z in a garage, Whether you go aftermarket or not, get an aftermarket 2-way alarm
With a tilt sensor.

Why are people surprised that wheels got stolen in a nice part of town? That's where the scumbags always go to get nice stuff.

I was going to say the same thing.

Did you have wheel locking lugs?

Srenity 01-13-2012 07:03 PM

Are you going through your auto insurance or Home owners/renters insurance. I once had a Cervelo road bike stolen from my office when i left it overnight and my renters insurance covered it since it normally resides at my home. Depending on your deductables it may make more sense to go that route. As for the wheel situation. Get an MSRP qoute for brand new factory wheels with brand new factory tires mounted and installed with an alignment. Use this as the baseline for what the insurance provides you minus deductable. Then take that money and buy a nice but affordable set of aftermarket wheels (Forgestar, Weds Sport, Advant Garde) and pocket a grand or two.

Right on. The forums have caught more than one scumbag.

I have them, but they are really not much good if the thieves are pros.

The most ignorant comment made by most middle and upper middle class americans.

" I just can't believe something like this could happen here. Our kids are normally safe on these streets. I guess I better find a new neighborhood to live in?"

The truth is.... crime is everywhere. But pretenscious people believe pretenscious things.
