Default Got Screwed on the Deal....Items Now 4 Sale

Well, after waiting over 4 months and $2k down payment, my car comes in today and I go to pick it up and the dealer wants another $2400 !! They indicate the sales manager who made the deal back on 1/17/09 is no longer with them and they don't know what he did with his calculations. My contract has a disclosure statement at the bottom that says "Subject to VPP Auth. and incentives @ time of Delivery Current Pricing (Vehicle subject to price increase). My salesman indicated that quarter to quarter price increases are not usually more than $250, so I signed the contract. Deal was for a base + 7AT + Sport Package + mats, guards, and kick plates for $30,408 + $250 doc fee + 25.25 title fee + tax.
I came home so mad I shredded my penfed loan check. The dealer calls me up a half hour later and says he feels bad for the $2400 increase and is willing to reduce the difference by about $700 which he says is his commission for a vpp sale. Sorry for the long rant but I am really disappointed after waiting this long and finally seeing the car.

Having said all that, I had bought several items I was going to install on the car but now need to sale.
Here's what I have;
Invidia Q300 Cat Back new $850 + shipping
Berk High Flow Cats new $400 + shipping
Stillen Oil Cooler kit new $400 + shipping
Stillen Grounding Kit new $75 + shipping
JWT Pop Chargers used from 370Z member - $260 + shipping

Here's pic of my not to be car.

That was one heck of a deal. I got mine for $31000 except 6MT, the 7AT adds about $1K to that. If you could get it for $32000 it would still be a good deal and well under invoice.

You're right to be pissed though, I know I would be.

With the limited amount of 370Zs around now at dealerships, and even at the new price, I think you are getting a good deal.

Yea, you have the right to be upset. They're the ones that couldn't meet the ends deal. The fine print on that contract is obviously for their protection should things happen, and indeed, it did. I'm sure you can find another Z for a great deal. Just bring in the any printouts of the deal to another dealer. I'm sure someone will match or even beat that offer.

What's your plan now? Are you still buying a Z?

Yes, automatics are more mechanically complex, compare to a standard manual transmission. LOL... it pays to row your gears!

Dude, that really sucks. Sorry to hear what happened to you. I'd be tempted to throw a brick through their window. (That is NOT a recommendation, btw.)

This thread made me call my dealer and get a written quote of the price we settled on. If they did this to me I'd be LIVID!

Scorpion -- you should name names. i.e., the name of this Stealership that did this to you. And then you should call them to let them know that you're warning everyone on this forum not to do business with them.

I think the sticker is a bit misleading. It's a no cost option because it's a difference base model. The price difference between the 2 base models is $1300 MSRP on the Nissan web site, even with a Tennessee zip code entered.
