Default Gave In!

OK, so I went to another dealership in Tallmadge that had the same model but in Yellow and without the Z illuminated kick plates. They ran the vpp price for me at $33099.22. So I went back to the original dealership that offered to take their profit of $783 off the $2400 difference which produced a price of $32057.05. So i figured for a $1100 less I could get the car I really wanted (blue) along with the kick plates. I figured it just wasn't going to get any better than this, so I swallowed my pride and bought it. Now I just need to get another Penfed check.

Thanks to all who urged me to continue on or keep my parts for the future.

Good for you. I would have done the same thing. Now close the other thread.

Dude - you still got a killer deal and the car you wanted. Maybe not as good as you were hoping, but at least you know the dealership made the absolute minimum they could.

Congrats on the purchase

Default From The Dealer

Here are some early pictures of my new baby. Won't get my PenFed loan check until next Wednesday, so it's going to be a long long weekend.

Getting excited again now that the disappointment is sorta gone.

Why would you want to commit yourself to a part when you don't even have the car. There might be something better and cheaper out by the time that you actually get the car. Then you'll be kicking yourself for jumping the gun.

amazing Z! I see this EXACT car in my garage EVERY DAY but never gets old. Absolutely love the color (I may be a little biased on the color )
Glad you've chosen to get it.

Congrats and drive safe!

Nope, still 29,930 base msrp. The only price increased by Nissan was destination fee (from $690 to $720 = $30) fee which is no biggie.

Ditto! Funny, as I was looking at the pics I actually thought to myself, 'This never gets old', then I scroll down and there are the words right out of my mouth! I could use more power though.

Sleep on it man, tomorrow is a new day and a new chance to get your Z.
+1 on this.

I'd do the same thing.. out of anger because having them change the deal is always a horrible experience.

It makes you think "Wow, did they think i'd be okay with paying $2400 more because the car is staring me in the face?".. And believe it or not, I bet many people cave in and pay the extra cash because they want the car that bad. They probably were chancing it with you seeing if they can get you trapped. I hate the tactics they use.

I just walk in and start firing shots off these days, gets them down to the bottom line right away.. Just walk in there say "Look, we're gonna make a deal or I'm walking really soon here." That's how I did mine, I failed to look into the VPP program though and thus I'm sour about my deal.

I'm glad you decided to go with the car. You still got a great deal. The initial deal they offered was too good to be true and it is obvious they screwed the pooch on that one. If it were an Altima or Sentra the dealer would probably take the loss and honor their mistake, but they know they can sell that Z for a profit, so it would have been an even bigger hit for them to honor it.
