 I bought a beater because mine is getting close to 25K.

NYBladeZ 01-04-2012 12:09 PM

I think I'll keep mine, then again I tend to get vested in cars so I can see myself building her and keeping her for the long run.

TheGreatOne 01-04-2012 12:56 PM

I am definitely keeping mine as long as a I can. Even with the new baby, still finding ways to keep her lol

I actually got mine with a few K's on it last year...the original owner brought it back to the same dealer because he couldn't afford it (had 3 cars already or something)

Dealer told me thats the main reason they ever got a GTR or Z back...

kenchan 01-04-2012 12:59 PM

thegreatone- you can do it! i have 2 little kids. :p

LakeShow 01-04-2012 01:01 PM

I like the rarity of the Z. I only see maybe one or two a week if that.

kenchan 01-04-2012 01:04 PM

i only see once every few months. :)

Cristobal09 01-04-2012 01:08 PM

What's really sad (in my area that is) is the amount I see for sale on autotrader, most of them have less than 10,000 miles on them. Most of them suprisingly are 10's and 11's.

Hahaa! I have 2 daughters and my Z is staying with me until it ceases to function (and that won't stop me from trying to resurrect it).

The the OP:

I searched the whole US for a NISMO while I was in Iraq. I wanted a '10, but no-one had one at the time. I found 3. Black in OH, White in IL, and Red in AR. So when I got back to the states, I was on a plane to AR to pick up my 09 SR NISMO with 6mi on it. The funny part is thaty had to hide it in the back showroom of their Ford dealership accrossed the highway from the Nissan dealership. They held that car for me for about 6 months (OCT-MAR). I had a F.I. TDX waiting @ the house before I picked up the car, lol!

I am close to 30 but i dont think i am gonna have any kids soon. And i am gonna keep my Z for a long time as well, but i might trade it in for a newer model Z if they decide to continue the Z line.

A little math that you might find eye-opening.

DON'T DO IT!

Methodical4u 01-04-2012 02:18 PM

no... and I can't get rid of it and IMO the car is in excellent shape and I have 2 of the best mods on the market. People are just not buying them.

Never! Until 3 weeks ago I came across a 2010 Black roadster with 5k miles. The guy traded it in for a vette. I happened to drive by he Chevy dealership and saw it out of the corner of m eye. Price was great! DONE!

i was the same way about 10yrs ago. nowadays not so much. i think it's about buying something you really want instead of buying subsititutes.

you need to save up and get a car you really want. :)

:icon17: The age distributions are pretty wonky. Lots of young owners, drops off some, then starts to tick back up at 40-50+

i doubt that. my j-arse did not fit very well in the car originally. had to get slimmer side mirrors and raise the seat a tad so that i could see out over the side mirrors... :shakes head: never had to do this on any of my j-cars. :icon23: :icon17:

it was designed for a 35+ yr old american dood of 6ft 1in and slim healthy build.

so i dont know why mr.k was saying this gen Z is 'not a z.' it's definitely designed for an american, not me.

That's me, except only 31. I am almost too tall for this car and it's tough to get my legs in under the steering wheel in a tight parking spot. Oh well, still love it once I am seated.

I'm a little under the age but can say that i don't think it was designed with a tallish person in the car. I'm 6'2" and have about an inch of space between my head and the roof lining. Still love it once i'm seated though. The bolstering of the seat is almost perfect for me.

Normal for a luxury type car (i.e. car that is a luxury to own--not necessary).

Young guys like me have no family, so we can afford stuff.
Middle-aged guys are bogged down with kids and crap.
Older guys are rewarding themselves for either raising their children or having the stones and skill to smother them in their sleep and get away with it.

kenchan 01-05-2012 04:45 PM

im not bogged down with kids and crap... i have kids and middled aged but not bogged down.

it seems like every used car lot or even new dealerships have known for
sell. while you can find 1 and 2 year old chargers, camaro and mustangs everywhere for sale used. any opinions on this . not trying to stir the pot
just interested if the other owners grew tired of their cars.

That's funny, when I was looking for a used 2011 370Z I found a few, all with extremely low mileage. It made my wonder why so many for sale with low miles, what's wrong with them. Nothing, as far as I could see other than blind spots that you can easily get used to. Love my Z.
