Who owns gun metallic?

Quick story... when shopping for my Z. I had 2 main colors picked out. Blue and black cherry. I really didn't want any of the other colors because they were all shades of grey and red is just overly common in dfw sports cars white black red and silver here make up 90% of most cars. When I found out my only two options were gun metallic and solid red. I was not happy. But between the two I felt gun metallic still had a unique quality even though its another DAMN shade of grey.
Well I never expected to get so many compliments on a shade of grey. I never thought anyone would notice its unique tone considering so many damn grey cars out there... but I get lots of looks and more compliments than I ever imagined.
What I like most about it is somehow it manages to be a metallic and matte grey. On a cloudy day the metallic flakes don't shine. The color begins to look like a smooth almost milky matte grey with a mild gloss overtone. On a sunny day, it gleems and glints like diamond crusted jewelry. Something that's very hard to get out of grey. The gloss is even more potent under the sun giving it a complete mirror finish which is exceptional. Its just a shame the color is being passed down to sedans and econo cars now. :(
So now I wanna know how many of us plunged into the GM color??? As much as I hate buying grey, Nissan makes a beautiful grey car and I'm loving gun metallic right now.

I have Gunmetallic, but it was the only color i wanted and was hard for me to find in July. There were PW, MB, and BS ones, but the GM was the one I wanted and took a while to locate. Black is usually very nice if you keep it clean, but for some reason the MB just didn't do it for me on the Z.

I love my GM. Especially when it's cloudy out. I actually don't when is sunny out almost seems silver in my pictures. Nothing cropping can't take care of.

Cloudy weather is when the color really stands out which is really strange for grey. I love to see my car with beaded rain on it. The matte like finish from the clouds and the pearl-like look of beaded water makes it look sick. :)

Well mine is technically a PG, but it was my first choice of color (since I couldn't get a 40th). I love the way it looks at night when there's a light shining over it, but not too closely. Gives it that perfect dark metallic look.

This

The exterior lighting at my work place have a orange glow to it and the car just look incredible under it. Got a lot of compliments on the color alone from co workers.

I usually spend a couple mins staring at the car after work. But sadly, no camera can really capture it perfectly.

Yeah it sucks that you can't really capture it on camera too well. The lights were I work have more of a white glow and I love walking up to my car when I'm leaving just to see it in that perfect lighting.

I have never seen a Gun Metallic in person. Is it much different than PG?

In my opinion there's a big difference if you are comparing grey to grey. PG was a shade or two lighter and was less dramatic in appearance when in different shades of light. PG looked more like a dark silver. GM is a much truer shade of grey even though the metalic flakes give it a strong silver hue in sunlight without interrupting its natural color.

I got one.....love it. Just some people including myself are victims of the defective paint satins from factory which seemed to only happen to the Gun Metallic. But looks great when sun is on it.

I like the GunMetallic under the lights at night. Something about this color makes the Z look very sexy at night. Parking lot lights make it look curvier (curvy-er)

The Story part of my post ended with the "DARK shades of grey" on the first paragraph. The other part is just discussion. There must be a lot of ADD and ADHD going around. Write more than one paragraph and y'all don't know how to act. :roflpuke2:
