spoke to 2 dealers-got great prices-BUT

One dealer had 2 black 370's w sport/spoiler/pkg. One of them had the older, lower MSRP price. It was $34,830. To get one of their hands(also a friend) I can have it for $30,500 + tax+apx.$100 for adm.
My other friend said he can get me a 2012 sport pkg msrp $35,800 using VPP, for $31,500. Prices are fantastic for new cars, but yesterday & two years ago as well, I found sitting in it tight/claustrophobic. I'm avg. size. Also hard to believe, I NEVER drove one. Due to no gas & end of month yesterday, I told my friend that I'll come back to drive it at another time. Seriously thinking of bying one, and of course drag racing it in the bolt on class......

The 2012 model comes with an oil cooler, which probably won't help much on the drag strip. It could help if you plan on ever taking it to a road course. How much it will help, no one really knows yet.

Good luck

If I go with the 370, the 2012 seems to make more sense.

you are looking at the wrong car if drag racing is what you find most exciting.

This would be my 5th Z. I like Z's for many reasons. Drag racing a stock bolt on Z in 12 seconds in the 1/4 is good enough for me. I also enjoy bracket racing. A Z is not the fastest/quickest car, but it IS a very fine, stable, safe, fun drag car.

id go with the 2012 if you can get it for 31500 with sport package. :)
