High winds + a big azzzz tent = ugh!

Yeah I had a 15' x 40' steel framed tent in my driveway and with tonights high winds I hear it moving around outside my window.... with my Z parked underneath it. So I go outside to move my car because I didn't want one of the poles to hit the side of my car.

Too late! I go out just in time to see the entire tent go completely airborne about 20' into the air and come down upside down right at me (as I dive into my garage) and on top of the killerbee... :shakes head:

The plastic part that looks like a shattered eggshell can probably be replaced easily enough but the roof is defintely dented  Ugh... what a PITA!

Ouch man I feel the pain. What's the next step in repairing?

Well I will take it to the body shop and see what the damage to my wallet will be I guess...

HenryLee 12-01-2011 01:49 AM

Ouch!

mantella87 12-01-2011 02:15 AM

That sucks man but it doesn't look like it will take too much work to fix.

LakeShow 12-01-2011 02:19 AM

Holy hell. Please park your Z's in safe surrounding in high winds.

Snakes709 12-01-2011 02:21 AM

and thats the reason i dont use those pos tents. I lost track of how many threads of have read of this happening to people.

haitech 12-01-2011 03:27 AM

Better dig a hole and bury them in cement to create a more solid foundation to make it like a post

Holy hell! One hell of a hit. Sorry man, that sucks.

Pharmacist 12-01-2011 08:37 AM

Damn, that sucks. the plastic part is cheap and easily replaceable. The problem will be fixing the dented roof. See what the body shop will say. Is the airbag damaged?

KillerBee370 12-01-2011 09:29 AM

No airbag damage as far as I can tell from the interior.

phelan 12-01-2011 09:35 AM

ooooh man the winds were bad yesterday weren't they? supposedly hitting 100 mph in some areas, i haven't been in one of those in years...

sucks about the KB, the A-pillar is really easy to replace, but that dent...yeah. hope you find a good spot to fix it! i'm sure one of us local guys can refer you to a good place if you need it!

Insurance should cover it.
