Who says the Z is not a family car?!

Here's a picture of the trunk of our Z today after my wife and I went grocery shopping.

We were standing in the checkout line with all this when the light went off: "Crap, we drove the Z"

Somehow, we (mainly her) got everything in. What isn't included in this picture is the small cooler, usually in the trunk, that was on my wife's lap for the trip home. That had the frozen stuff in it.

Pshhhhh not a family car? Throw the child seat on the roof and good to go

SPOHN 11-13-2011 05:49 PM

Mmmmm. What's for dinner?

UNKNOWN_370 11-13-2011 06:42 PM

Been there... done that. Lol

Jordo! 11-13-2011 07:34 PM

I never put groceries in the back any more -- invariably they go flying :icon17:

:iagree:

I was able to fit my wife, a cooler, a 24" iMac, 2 suitcases, backpack, 2 weeks of clothes, some groceries and misc. It was tight, but my wife was able to get it all got in there.

impressed with how much you fit into a roadster trunk!

the hatch has tons of room...roadster is much tighter

I couldn't figure out what the heck I was looking at until I read your "roadster" comment. Looks like there's a lot more room in my coupe! That's a funky trunk thingy in there. :ugh2:

You know, this is my biggest problem at the moment - justifying a car with 2 seats and a small trunk

kenchan 11-14-2011 07:02 AM

Wahahaha. :icon17:

Eric 11-14-2011 07:24 AM

370Z and grocery shopping shouldn't be used in the same sentence!

sboden 11-14-2011 07:57 AM

The z has a ton of room compared to some other 2 seat sports cars I've had. You could always do what one of the 350Z owners did in my Z club. He refabricated the back and put in two G rear seats in his Z. It looks like they always belonged there. Nothing like seeing a 4 seat Z.

The Coupe has a ton of space in the hatch for groceries. Larger bulky items can be tricky, but I did buy a 25 gallon fish tank once and hauled it home in the Z. It just barely cleared the rear glass.

Groceries... no problem. I could go to Costco and buy in bulk and still fit everything in the Z.

TheGreatOne 11-14-2011 08:54 AM

Nice...I love taking the Z for groceries...

Its funny, for a second I'm looking at your hatch, thinking, something looks off...it looks different than mine....smartly went back to your info and see its a roadster lol

I agree with the first portion but for me, Costco is definitely the little ladies car.

I agree. Costco with the Z only in a pinch.

when i lived in LA over a decade ago there was an older guy in a modena that shopped at my local groceries every sunday mornings around 5:30am. :D we'd see each other's cars every weekend cause i alwaysed parked 2 spaces over in the empty parking lot.

i'd head out to the canyons by 6am...back by 11am. :p 405 was the schits.

What car did you have at the time ?

Some cars demand your utmost respect. It's an interesting thing in life.

The roadsters trunk looks like a full size sedans trunk, ,

Yea, my fault. I should have specified "roadster" in my OP

Yup.. the Z trunk being unusable is a gross exaggeration and those that disagree don't have an imagination. Lol. My Z trunk has been way more useful than most people would be inclined to believe.

SPOHN 11-14-2011 07:42 PM

Did you remove the spare you could of got more in there?
