thoughts on black wheels on black cherry

got a black cherry 370z roadster a few months back. i've been wanting to do the black car/black wheels look for a whlie, but ended up with black cherry instead. the Rays are too beautiful to give up, so i was probably going to just powdercoat them.

anyone seen this before/have any thoughts on it?

Look like "Knight Rider K.I.T.T."

I've been thinking about doing the same to my Black Cherry Z.

Here is a pic of my Z I photoshopped to get the basic idea of what it would look like. I like it.

Obviously, this comes down to personal choice. Since you asked for opinions, I'd say no.

My reason is that Black Cherry is such a classy, non-aggressive color that black rims would really take away from it. The silver Rays really compliment the color.

I saw my first Black Cherry 370Z in person yesterday, and it was gorgeous.

Ultimately, it's your car and your decision. Good luck with your choice!

Not my cup of tea.

I like it, BUT I also think you have to do the door handles, because they look out of place being the only silver thing.

Doesn't go. Black rims aren't for every car.

I think bronze/gold would look great on a black cherry.

This exterior color just doesn't go well with dark rims.

Naaw, just leave them silver! Those black coated rims go better with lighter color cars even then doesn't fit them all.

if you do go with black rims, I think you need to go glossy rather than matte against black cherry.

I think you need to stick to brighter colors like has been said already. I also agree that gold/bronze might look good with BC. It definitely is a classy color so you've got to choose wheels that work with that theme. Black is too aggressive/racer-ish IMO.

I actually think it looks good, if you get the right wheels though:

That does look good.

Matte blacking the stock rims on a glossy bright car looks dumb. You can only get away with that on solid colors. IE Solid Red or Chicane Yellow. And buy rims, don't paint the beautiful sport rims. That's an insult to the sport pkg option. Lol
