DD all year 09 with touring package 30Kmi
leather: still looks good and feels soft no cracking for me. rattles: Summer time there are none. Once it starts getting cold out ie now the rattles come out to play. These are intermittent rattles, the rear hatch can rattle, something on the passenger side can rattle, and the stupid overhead interior light fixture can rattle. I'm pretty sure I can fix all these but I keep putting it off till it gets warm outside and then I forget because they dont rattle when its warm out. Oh also the rear hatch sticks in the winter and not the summer and yes I've had the TSB fix for it. |

I have no problems with my 2010 that I have owned for the last 15 months. But then again it only has 6500 miles on it.
|
The only issues that I have had with my 09 NISMO have been fixed under warranty. The hatch thing got fixed, but still requires help opening or a few presses of the release. Just hit 27k before I deployed and the car is rock solid. The paint up front has it's share of wear/damage, but I drive the car year round and have taken several road trips.

No major problems here. Coming up on 7,000 miles.
The majority of the 'problems' are caused by my car-OCD :icon17: Relatively minor issues: I had an oil leak from a bolt that was maybe 6 inches above the oil filter location. I traced a trail of oil up to the bolt, tightened it, no more leaks after 1,500 miles. It felt like it was torqued to about 5 lb/ft before I tightened it.. My vents blow out warm air with the a/c off (no, heat is not on) I'm probably forgetting some other minor thing I've posted about previously. Happy with the car. It always starts when I need it to  |

I haven't investigated if it's a temperature mix door not fully closing off the heater core or if it's drawing warm air from the engine compartment. Definitely something that make me wonder.... Dave |

This is an interesting thread for a potential future 370z owner. Thanks guys.

My 2009 Z Touring with Sport Package is my DD, with 26k miles. It is in my garage when I'm not driving it. Seats look like new, however the seat warmers are weak. My headlights are beginning to cloud up. The hatch sticks (dealers says there is nothing wrong with it. Really?). Had a problem with the latch on the fuel cover. The chin spoiler drags on everything, but flat pavement. These are somewhat minor issues. Mechanically it has been fine and fun to drive.
|
Mine is at 25K and the only thing I've had issues with is having to push the trunk button for the second time to release the trunk, on 2 different occasions.
|
'09 31k miles. The car is still like new. The only rattles I have is from some stuff I keep in the compartments.
|
Been having mine since early 09 i've only got 6600 miles on it but i've got no problems and love it every min.
|
Just hit 39k this week and had my 2010 Z since March of 2010. Daily driven and no issues at all (knock on wood).
|
i think we should close this thread since importcovert doesnt come here any more.

ALthough Import Convert is on a "vacation," I'd like to respond for anyone seeking a long term review:
I was one of the first to have the Z around these parts. I don't just DD my car, I beat the **** out of it. I'm a little shy of 34k miles, and this thing is fuckin awesome still. Beautiful inside and out. Normally the side bolsters, if made of leather, show wrinkles very quickly in most cars, but my leather still looks pretty good (not like the vettes I've owned with ****-quality leather). The only I've had to take it in for was the fuel gauge not lighting all the way up, which there is an existing thread about. However, that problem was quickly fixed and has not been an issue. |
I still come here, they just haven't gotten my 370Z in yet, and so I have nothing new to report or ask. Noone in the US yet has the car I want, as I have said over and over again, and as Lou has also explained, they won't be here for another month or two. Ordering just opened up in early November for the model I want.

That is a big deal about why I want to trade. I had my rocket ship, now I want a nimble little car with a very nice interior and good looks. 370Z should do it, although had Honda continued to evolve the S2000, I would have looked there, too. Moot point, Honda doesn't make sports cars anymore. *sigh* |

None of the US cars have it for 2012 yet except for a few 'verts and one Touring non-sport about 200 miles from me. |

I just want to trade cars before I move, but I also want a '12 in '12 for as long as possible.

For instance, owning a mustang forces you to grow a mullet |

1. A little more punch in initial torque 2. I think a car of this caliber with the oil heating issue is probably the stupidest and most senseless issue a car could have. 3. The stereos are a joke. Whether standard or optional. 4. Nissan sells these cars with a staff that can't point you in the right direction when there's an issue. But some of imports past comments are so in-depth concerning his distaste for the Z's lack there-of. I just imagined him happier in a ZR1 or audi R8 upgrade vs a Z downgrade. But its no issue. Lol. Just an observation. :tiphat: PS some people get "THE FANBOY" label when its not deserved. Some people are just realists. You spend a certain amount. You only get so much performance or features etc. At the price point we are paying the Z. I don't find a whole lot wrong with the car when I compare cars in the price range. Like I don't see anything wrong with camaro and mustang as far as performance delivery in the price range. I just outgrew muscle cars. My early life I owned 2. Been around and driven dozens. I just prefer imports overall. But my love and respect for muscle is more than prevalent. Its where my enthusiasm began like any other american. I just feel what needs to be improved on the z are the obvious. I also feel that Z base prices are beginning to borderline ridiculousness. But I never pay MSRP. I paid what I thought a Z is worth. :) |

The rest is just nitpicky stuff that ANY car will have in one way or the other. ____ Anyway, total letdown today. There is only 1 car like what I want in the nation, and the dealership tried to trade for it but was told it was supposedly already sold: Gun Metallic 2012 6M NAV Sport Touring Black interior = Unobtainium ___________ Yes, an R8 would be awesome, but a house would be nicer...same for the ZR1 except it's just a Z06 with a different drive-line, and I want something a bit "nicer" inside--where I spend all my time. This is a preference move based on a desire to increase the amount I throw in savings/other hobbies each month. |

2012 Nissan 370Z Touring, $41,370 - Cars.com As far as what have you said. I'm not diggin into the archives to prove anything. N I'm not saying that as an insult. I just recall some convo's where my statement is correct. But even more than that. You are die hard fan of corvette performance. I think your long term assessment of our cars will be a valueable asset in the long run. What you said about the Z positive or negative isn't affecting or angering me. I'm just thinking you will be an interesting owner considering what you currently drive and what your many criticisms have been. I do know you have also praised the car for price to performance and build quality. I'm not taking away what you admire at the least. But you have been very flip floppy as far as your overall assessment of the Z as a performance car. |
Here's another right next door. They just want to sell you what they have. Gun metallic was the number one selling color last year. I own one. It was the only hot color available. I was looking for Mblue, BC or GM. I settled for last. GM is gorgeous though for a grey. The nicest grey I ever seen aside from 40th graphite.
2012 Nissan 370Z Touring, $41,370 - Cars.com http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national And there's a 2011 right by me for discount. You can always get your own oil cooler. |

I flip-flopped on the power aspect. The rest of my line has been that it's a very buttoned down little coupe with great looks and a $75K interior in a $40K priced vehicle. The oil-cooler fixed my other concern, and the brakes, well, I will cross that bridge if I get there. I doubt that, though. I agree, I am interested to know how I feel in a year once I get it, too. However, I will love the extra $500/mo or so from less note/insurance. I just realize that since I don't track my Z06, I'm not getting what I payed for. With the 370Z, that interior is going to enhance ownership experience a lot, vs. the Z06. The only time I will miss the Z06 is when power is an issue. Or if someone calls it a girly-car. Then I will have a bad time and probably not eat my supper. You will hear about it when I get home and post up. :roflpuke2: |

Also, NONE of these cars have NAV. If you find one like I want, PLEASE! link it, though. I will forward it to my dealer and attempt a dealer trade ASAP. They searched Nissan USA's dealer database and found only 1 like I wanted, as mentioned. I know you may be aggravated by me being so picky, but it's my work/money paying for it, and if I am trading a car I selected feature by feature and watched them build, I'm going to trade it on EXACTLY what I want. This may or may not seem petty to you. (If the car is optioned like I want, MSRP should be a touch over $42K) |
Oh u want nav. Ok you're not going to find nav till the spring. Lol. They always trade off to make you pay MSRP. Then in the spring they make it impossible to buy sport pkg's. You will need to order your car. They do this on purpose dude.

I have no clue what this is about, but that is how it was explained to me. The fact that 1 existed gives me hope, though. |
Why not install an aftermarket nav? It would be a lot nicer.
On the flip side... If you must have the oem then I'm sure a mechanic could install it for you. |
