:iagree: By the way, I have had mine about 19 and 1/2 months, put 24,500 miles on her so far and have no issues.

ALthough Import Convert is on a "vacation," I'd like to respond for anyone seeking a long term review:

I was one of the first to have the Z around these parts. I don't just DD my car, I beat the **** out of it. I'm a little shy of 34k miles, and this thing is fuckin awesome still. Beautiful inside and out. Normally the side bolsters, if made of leather, show wrinkles very quickly in most cars, but my leather still looks pretty good (not like the vettes I've owned with ****-quality leather). The only I've had to take it in for was the fuel gauge not lighting all the way up, which there is an existing thread about. However, that problem was quickly fixed and has not been an issue.

I still come here, they just haven't gotten my 370Z in yet, and so I have nothing new to report or ask. Noone in the US yet has the car I want, as I have said over and over again, and as Lou has also explained, they won't be here for another month or two. Ordering just opened up in early November for the model I want.

The leather is a joke in the C6. My Trans Am (both the '95 and '01) was better, and the C5 was better. Hell, even my 2002 G20 has nicer leather, (although through lack of care for its first 110K miles the side-bolster on the seat-cushion is cracking a tad) Whoever at LEAR/GM decided that that leather was acceptable for any car over $12,000MSRP needs to be let go.

That is a big deal about why I want to trade. I had my rocket ship, now I want a nimble little car with a very nice interior and good looks. 370Z should do it, although had Honda continued to evolve the S2000, I would have looked there, too. Moot point, Honda doesn't make sports cars anymore. *sigh*

Curious what model you're waiting for...

NAV.

None of the US cars have it for 2012 yet except for a few 'verts and one Touring non-sport about 200 miles from me.

I can understand that, they're just starting production on my 2012 370z this month, with an expected delivery date of February 2012. During the course of the four months I'll receive my VIN and a more concrete date of delivery, keep in mind that i put my deposit for my Z on 9/2/2011, glad i have very good patience. Also, i've waited for Nissan to finesse the Z since i almost bought the 350Z when it first came out in 2003. Since the 370Z has every change i wanted and more, she's worth the wait.

I just want to trade cars before I move, but I also want a '12 in '12 for as long as possible.

I'm just shocked you're buying a Z in spite of the many "flaws" and performance "inabilities" you have pointed out over the last several months of posting. Lmfao. I'm dying to see what you have to say after owning it a month????:roflpuke2::eekdance:

Contrary to popularfanboy belief, a car doesn't have to be perfect to be worth owning. Every car makes compromises.

For instance, owning a mustang forces you to grow a mullet

LMFAO... there are things I don't like about the Z either or would like to improve.

1. A little more punch in initial torque
2. I think a car of this caliber with the oil heating issue is probably the stupidest and most senseless issue a car could have.
3. The stereos are a joke. Whether standard or optional.
4. Nissan sells these cars with a staff that can't point you in the right direction when there's an issue.

But some of imports past comments are so in-depth concerning his distaste for the Z's lack there-of. I just imagined him happier in a ZR1 or audi R8 upgrade vs a Z downgrade. But its no issue. Lol. Just an observation. :tiphat:

PS some people get "THE FANBOY" label when its not deserved. Some people are just realists. You spend a certain amount. You only get so much performance or features etc. At the price point we are paying the Z. I don't find a whole lot wrong with the car when I compare cars in the price range. Like I don't see anything wrong with camaro and mustang as far as performance delivery in the price range. I just outgrew muscle cars. My early life I owned 2. Been around and driven dozens. I just prefer imports overall. But my love and respect for muscle is more than prevalent. Its where my enthusiasm began like any other american.
I just feel what needs to be improved on the z are the obvious. I also feel that Z base prices are beginning to borderline ridiculousness. But I never pay MSRP. I paid what I thought a Z is worth. :)
