For those seeing high temps without coolers.
I just wanted to say I have Castrol EDGE and and K&N high performance air filters in my car now. Its taking 3x longer to heat up. Of course we aren't in 100's, but even by comparison of normal temps. Its taking longer to get to 240 degrees by nearly an hour. Just thought id chime in on that.

I saw similar, positive results with German castrol

IMHO though I know Mobil one runs well in csertain types of autos. (I swore by it in my Rx7), it doesn't seem to do all that great in my Z. In my G35 I used Castrol syntec and it seemed to do pretty well. But to me, it seems EDGE, truly has an edge over the outgoing syntec. I feel a noticeable performance increase. The 1st 500 miles didn't seem all that impressive on the Edge. Then all of a sudden the car felt more powerful and much smoother. The good part was temps drop after about 250 miles. So I'm extremely pleased with EDGE as a performance oil. |

Are you using EDGE with Syntec or Titanium? Which ones better?

Lest friction = less heat so I get that part already. |
Interesting thread. I had my car dynoed today and I'm running Mobil 1 and even though the temps were in the upper 60s, after a few dyno pulls, the oil temp was around 220 and after 20 minutes to let the car cool....the oil temp only came down about 5-10 degrees. My tuner was kind of curious about it.
