dropping tools and small parts into the plastic tray while working on the car...not horrible but annoying...:driving:

Put a LT1 350, 350 HP motor out of a 1970 Z28 into my 1976 Chevy 4x4. 3 months later. Cruising down the road. Motor started running ruff. Turned around a headed for home. Got 2 blocks from the house and the motor died. Buddy towed me home. Dropped the oil pan. It was full of metal shavings. Buddy turned the motor over with the key. Me under the truck watching. The back part of the crank. Behind the 2nd main bearing turned over. The front part of the crank didn't. The crank broke right behind the 2nd main bearing. LT1's have a forged crank too. :icon14:

Driving my old 1998 Ford Mustang GT on the highway and I heard a metal clanking noise during the drive and when I turned on to the exit the car shut off. I tried to restart it and no go. Turns out the 4.6L 2V V8 had three rod bearings fail and two of the connecting rods bent. Epic failure!!! Needless to say I will never purchase a Ford vehicle again. The 1998 Ford Mustang GT I owned was a real lemon and very unreliable and it only got worse as I put the miles on it. My old 1998 Ford Mustang GT I owned was fun to drive though when it was not in my mechanics shop or at the Ford dealership service department being repaired or found on road dead or on a flat bed tow truck.
