370Z question

I traded my 2010 Challenger R/T for a 2011 Ford Explorer.
Got it so that we could have an SUV.
Great vehicle, but bored silly of it.

Really wish that I had a sports car again.
My wife likes it, for family and all.
My wife drives a 2010 G37 Coupe.

My thought is biting the bullet, and looking into a Audi A4, Evo, or 370z.
The Evo and Audi A4 are good for family. But having a 370z would be awesome.

My concern is speeding tickets, do these 370s' attract tickets like a magnet.
It takes an act of congress to get noticed by cops in my Explorer.
I do not speed, but do not want to be followed or profiled, if I have a sports car.

I rarely get followed. I have yet to get a ticket, and I do speed.

Z is worst for family but best at fun. EVO makes few comprimises for your situation.

Really depends on your area, if sports cars or sporty cars are really rare, you will get more attention from cops.

gman123 10-17-2011 02:27 PM

yea, Ford, Chevy and Dodge trucks are the norm in my area.

op- sounds like your wife's having all the fun with her 10' G37C.

time for you to have a fun car for yourself.

i dont speed either. no issue with cops in my area. actually they usually give me a

sounds like an evo would be just as much trouble as a Z if ur worried about trouble.

RoshDawg 10-17-2011 03:23 PM

Wait wait how come you had to get rid of your challenger but your wife kept the g37coupe?
You should prob get the evo so you don't both have only 2 doors. Not sure on your need for more than 2 doors. The evo is really awesome, not so sure about the Audi..

gman123 10-17-2011 03:38 PM

yea, she insisted on keeping her G37c...don't say that I blame her.

the evo would be really cool, the wrx sti has me interested as well.
the thing about the 370z is that it would be pretty similar to the g37c, which I know that I already like.

just curious as to, why there is no sunroof option...t-tops or targa would be nice too.

Depends on where you live, and what color z you get.

I think an EVO with rear wing pretty much says "Oh HAI officer!" :icon17:

My tickets came while driving my Dodge minivan. None with the Z. Go figure.

NickBaragona 10-17-2011 07:13 PM

The only tickets I have received so far were from failure to display the license plate on the front of my car. I noticed you said you don't like to speed, I was going to recommend the Passport 9500ix. Awesome radar detector.

You'll be OK in Austin as long as you keep it sane on the freeway. I don't think I've even been glanced at by the troopers or APD. I think they get more satisfaction by pulling over soccer moms in their SUVs -- at least that's what I see pulled over most of the time on Mopac :). Perhaps it's part of that "Keep Austin Weird" thing.

I went from a 2007 Charger R/T to a Trailblazer SS to a 370z..

Definitely not a family car. I think you would regret not getting a car with a backseat..

AUDI S5 :nutswinger:
