Anyone have this problem?

Anyone have the plastic bag melted on your exhaust? I got my mid pipe melted with a plastic bag and it is really hard to get rid off? Anyone have any ideas how to remove it. I took the most of the plastic off and let the rest burn. But there are some black marks left on the pipe. How can I clean? Anyone? Thank you.

Have you tried a chrome or metal polish? First, clean it with an All Purpose Cleaner though.

Wood like to hear some ideas as well. I got one melted on the back part of my FI exhaust.

my inlaws had this problem a while ago. after cooling off the exhaust i used a razor blade to kind of chisel it off. then used a soft wire brush on my dremel and removed the rest. polished it up with some metal polish at the very end.

I got the car hot, then used a razor blade on it. Requires being VERY careful.

From there, sandpaper and metal polish got it off.

It's happened to me 3 times now. If it can't be seen, I just let it burn. It's tedious to take off and can't get all the residue off.
