There are a few places where the cops always sit... and I always make overly sure to not go over the limit at all... and in those zones, people pass me, etc. I do not flash anything there.

I do however appreciate when people flash me at other times for unexpected areas. But i sorta feel like this... why enable speeders (even if I am one sometimes..)?

Do you guys flash your lights to other drivers to warn of speed traps?

do you think other people should?

Yes on both counts.

I never really use to (I'm a pretty big jerk to be honest), but some guy in a silver Mustang GT saved me big time so I will throw out the odd flash now. I wish I could thank that guy because he saved me big time.. I was doing about 35 KM/H over the limit at the time.

The bottom line is that in 1974 the Emergency Highway Energy Conservation Act went into effect in response to oil price spikes and supply disruptions during the 1973 oil crisis. The original catch phrase was "55 saves fuel". It was never "55 saves lives". In fact it's widely debatible as to whether or not it shows any increase in saftey as far as traffic related fatalities are concerned. Period. They only kept the national speed laws in effect and changed it to "..saves lives" in order to collect revenue at that point. What a perfect way to do so!

So yes, I will always do my part to warn others against impending revenue collection spots and those who enforce them as well as take every precautionary measure against such legalized extortion myself via my V1 etc.

I speed. So does everyone else. But in the end... "speeding" is only a matter of semantics.

'I knew the oncoming driver and was saying hello'. 'I was trying to activate the turn signal and must have pulled the stalk a little.'. 'An oncoming driver had his brights on an I was signalling him to turn them off.'. The possibilities are endless.

This is serious? It's illegal to signal???? On what grounds? Dang. If a cop pulls me over for this I'd say show me where its written.

You wouldn't have to say anything because it's nowhere in the vehicle code. You wouldn't get a ticket in the end of all his/her bitching and moaning. They can make up whatever roadside stories they want but in the end, unless it's in the VC or PC, it doesn't matter.

Of course for most of us, they can find something legit to issue a ticket for.

Again, if someone is pissed, they may look harder.

"The part of Texas that I live in only requires an OBD2 scan. So if you are not throwing CEL, then you will pass. No visual inspection needed. "

Federal = not Texas law. Any state or county trooper can put you down for the fine though.

Which is the biggest crock of bullsheet I've ever heard of. The planet is currently in a carbon dioxide deficit! We need carbon dioxide to breath. Plants need it to grow and convert it to oxygen. The government has everyone believing that it's such an evil bad thing which is why they are shutting down coal power plants and imposing such heavy taxes (and fines in the case of vehicles running test pipes etc.)

Again with the revenue collection. :shakes head:
