I've had an obsession with Japanese sports cars since the 90s and the Z is one of the last ones left. I looked at mustangs, camaros, and the like but nothing gave me quite the same feeling as the Z, whether I was driving or just looking at it.

Very good analogy. You summed up how I have felt about my Z since I saw/owned it.

Drove a few ~1998 - 2002 Porsche 911's, since a 911 is what I initially wanted. All had small problems that could turn into big problems (like 2nd gear) or had previously had complete cooling system overhauls.... bottom line, I did not want the maintenance/repair risk/cost. So, I started looking at other cars, preferably in the same ($30k-ish) price range, but new. The Z was by far the best looking choice. It had, by far, the best exclusivity (even better than the 911, which is common as fleas on a dog in Dallas).... something I value a lot. I liked how it drove. Sold.

Never owned a sporty car in my life. Did own a 1993 Ford Probe, but it doesn't count since it was so underpowered. Looked at a few of the sporty cars and did like the 2011 Ford Mustang. After reading lots of articules, I decided on the "Z" even knowing it was not going to be the fastest. The main two reasons I choose the "Z" was 1: I liked the styling and how it looks. 2: I wanted something that you don't see a lot of. I see all kinds of Cameros and Mustangs and even BMWs, but I don't see alot of "Z"

I have not bought yet, but I am STRONGLY considering trading in my current toy for one next year. If I do, it will be:

The interior quality is the nicest you will find sub-$60K.
The performance is okay in acceleration, but driving the car, it felt very nimble.
It looks very appealing. Low, wide, and with good lines.
It will allow me to finance a nice house since it's not a very expensive car. Basically, it's a Porsche Cayman S without the price-tag or mid-engine or maintenance costs, in my opinion. Fun, brisk acceleration, very nimble, and high quality in its segment.

Living in Germany, this is a car that can be driven and enjoyed! Great looks, reliability and solid driving attributes. Its tested very well here in Germany vs TTR-S. It should arrive to me next week! :)

I held off buying (a third car) for about a year after my Evo IX got totaled because at the time I was one of the last to have an '06. They never came out with an '07 and in '08 they launched that butt ugly X. At that point I knew I wanted to "grow up" a bit anyway and get away from the boy racer look and go with a little more refined platform rather that the STI's & Evo's of the world. I knew i was going to modify because hey, who can't modify right? It'll be a cold day in hell before i ever drive a Honduh and over at BMW they are such arrogant pricks that that kills the notion of picking up an M3. I couldn't afford a GT3 so here I am. I think it was a great decision.

when I was younger my dad had a datsun 2000roadster and then a 280z. I always loved the Z car so when I got tired of my hand me down 2000 Acura TL typeS I bought a 2005 350z slapped on a single turbo kit and proceeded to mod the hell out of it. loved that car but the interior rattled and scratched very easily, the transmission was notchy as hell and 5th gear would grind every time I wanted to shift quickly. these among many other problems influenced me to look for another car. saw the 370 on the road and I couldn't figure out what Nissan was thinking when they designed the car, I thought it was ugly. then I saw it again.. and fell in love. sold the 350z and never looked back, now I drive a 2009 mb/persimmon 370 and I can honestly say that Nissan fixed every problem I had with the 350z. I'm finally satisfied :tiphat:

Took my DD Y62 Patrol for a service,
Walked into the dealership to check what offers were there, as I walked in just casually walked and checked out their cars, on my way out I saw a MB Blue 370z, that got my attention. As it is, you hardly find 370z, there are more GTR's here (wish I had one of those :yum: ). Anyways, Went back the next week to get it and have not regretted ever since!

Would early mid-life crisis count as a valid reason to get the Z?

Theres no REAL valid reason to get a 35,000+ dollar, 330hp+, two seater, sports car, although ur reason might count. :icon17:
